Current I think watching fight scenes can help in general terms with writing combat, since it can give you an idea of flow and choreography.

At least if you're writing something you know, with knights.

I mean, depends on what you're writing, and the tone and theme of what you're writing. Trained armored knights were legitimately monstrous on the battlefield, so looking up how they fought helps.

As much as there's a lot of reasons twitter sucks, I genuinely don't want to see it die for the sake of all the artists who now rely on it. Hoping the shithead stops trying to directly administrate.

roleplayerguild.com/posts/5… If anyone's up for fighting some kaiju, why not try out my new RP, Godzilla: YATAGARUSU?

@supertinyking: Oh, sorry, since you didn't note character names and I didn't know them off the top of my head I didn't know. ^^;

In that case, a really quick look over each makes me a little concerned about Mithrix since he's described as having godlike powers, but then again godlike powers is a bit hard to quantify across settings.

Incidentally, I'll probably have my own character up soon. It took a little bit to decide.
"..."

For several moments, as her eyes fell upon the stuffed frog-knight, Velvetica found herself unable to articulate any words.

Cute.

It was cute. It was really cute. Honestly, she'd managed to hold back her admiration for the doll back in the crypt, but now that there wasn't anything else to occupy her attention...

For a few moments she didn't actually manage to say anything at all.

It wasn't as if anyone who had never been to her room would know this, and simply intruding on the Steel Princess's private quarters was practically unfathomable.

But if anyone had gone in there, they would discover her collection.

The variety of stuffed toys she possessed.

Her brother was grinning.

No matter how she admired him, her annoyance at how amused she was exceeded it.

"... A-ahem, I... I certainly admire the craftsmanship," Velvetica began, trying to navigate the situation as best she could, "Plus, it's ad-aesthetically interesting."

To reveal the leader of the Hraeslag Lions so adored cute things would... what would people think, in the heat of battle?! She simply couldn't!

But at the same time, she couldn't ignore the cute look of the armored frog.

"I shall gladly accept this gift."

Her brother stepped forward, nodding his head and still smiling.

"It's a pleasure to meet you, Lady Lirrah," he began, "I'm Velvetica's elder brother, Elroy. I think you may have picked just the kind of gift my little sister finds aesthetically interesting."

Admiration didn't stop Velvetica from shooting him a brief glare as she moved to accept the frog.

Ah, she hadn't even had time to put it away...

Later that day, once she had returned to her office, the frog knight was still seated on Velvetica's desk when Kayliss emerged from the corner.

Certainly, she understood the assassin's desire to keep things under wraps when it came to matters such as this, but at the same time she hoped this would never occur with her own personal quarters.

So, Sir István appeared to suspect that something had happened to the Crownsblades? That was difficult, given that the organization was all but destroyed.

"Hmmm... I see," she began, crossing her arms as she leaned back in her seat.

"To begin with, I would prefer if you didn't do anything that could lead to his death," she continued after a moment. To be honest, she would have hoped that those in her employ would also trust her judgement in terms of who she accepted into her service, but that was unfortunately something she simply couldn't count on. Especially given that someone had so clearly desired those who had served as the Crown's assassin's dead.

"As for the nature of your employment," she continued after a moment, "I don't particularly like the idea of lying about my own dealings with the crown. That is not the behavior of a champion of Velt and its people. Rather, I believe simply omitting some of the details if the best course of action."

It was the first possibility that came to mind, at least.

It was around that moment that the door opened once again.

The figure who stepped through it was a dark-haired woman who appeared to be in her early twenties, her blue eyes possessing an odd luminscence and her pale skin almost ethereal. Her slight features were not out of the realm of humanity, but the slight point to her ears implied ancestry outside of it. She wore red and gold robes over a frilled dress, and currently wore an irritable frown on her face.

It was likely that both of those present would recognize her as the mage employed by the Hraeslag family, Liletta Venn.

In her arms was the doll, Anisette, who had a slight scowl on her face.

"The report did say she could speak, didn't it?" began Liletta, exasperated, "Because she won't answer a single question I ask her. You were the one who got her name, do you-"

She paused on sight of smouldering paper, and the other sheets.

"What have you been doing in here?"

Update and the discord server coming tomorrow, as well as a proper look at the remaining bios.
@supertinyking: This isn't an RP for OCs, it's for canon characters from existing media.
Slowly, the little girl lowered her bat.

"That... does sound like dad..." she trailed off for a moment. Though she wasn't poised to strike any longer, she was still gripping the baseball bat rather tightly. Shuffling her feet, she averted her eyes and took a deep breath.

"When everyone started rushing out, we got split up, so... so I hid back here and got a bat! I know it can't kill a demon, but if I took it by surprise and hit it hard enough I thought I could get away!"

She seemed proud of her own logic. Perhaps, against a Beast-class demon, it might have even worked.

She hesitated for a few moments, and when she next spoke her voice was quieter.

"Nobody's been hurt, right...?"

It seemed as if she hadn't seen whatever caused the bloody mess outside the shop, given the question.

It was at that moment that Shiro's voice reached all of them once more.

"I have pinpointed a Monster-class demonic signature, but it is strange. It should be at your location, do you see anything?"

Of course, the only unfamiliar figure among them was the little girl.

Perhaps someone looking closely would see something shift in the back of her tank-top...

@Remuri: You need to use a character with a canon personality and identity. What you suggested isn't going to work.
"Wait, so his dumb ass is a victim in all of this, too?"

She couldn't help it. That news almost immediately lightened her mood, her lips spreading to expose her sharp teeth in a wide grin. For the moment, her animosity towards the church agents took a back seat, as she couldn't help but restrain her laughter.

"Not just hiring a demon, but helping one out, huh? That must be news to you!" she declared, wiping at tear from her eye and clutching at her stomach, "Ah, ah, alright. Let's do this. Even if we have to kill him to do it."

It was only to be expected that Eliztrazia didn't care very much about the demon noble or the rest of his family.

But she did care about how hilarious the situation was. A demon picked up by a demon-slaying organization, only for their first mission to turn out to be helping a demon?

Well, it wasn't like there weren't other reasons this was funny, too, but for now that was chief in her mind.

Plus she still wanted to tear the guts out of the one possessing the demon's wife.

She tore down the hall and the stairs with little heed for the demon maids ahead. After all, why should she care? They were trash, weren't they?

The nearest of the monstrous maids she leaped onto to tackle it to the ground, slamming its body down beneath her before it could. Equally swiftly, Elizstrazia sunk her razor teeth into its neck and pulled sharply, ripping open its throat and feeling the heat of its blood spurting across her face. The taste on her tongue wasn't particularly pleasant in her opinion, so she swiftly spat it out, rising in the very same motion she brought her clawed foot down to crush its skull into the tiles.

The warmth spraying across her leg and thigh meant that she'd killed it nice and fast.

"Out of the way, trash!"

The gaping maw of the next one never reached her, as she brought her clawed hand slicing through the air and seized its skull in the same motion, tearing its had from its neck and tossing it across the room.

@Rune_Alchemist@Pyromania99
@DarkRecon: Going to be honest, I'd prefer if people stuck to one character for this RP.

On another note, the IC is up! I'll also be making a discord server for the RP for smoother communication.
"Hello, EINHERJAR pilots! It's everyone's favorite girl, VALKYRIE!"

The cheery young voice that played over her communications system wasn't an unfamiliar one in the least. Given this job was still within range of planetary systems, it was no surprise that the AI designed to assist EINHERJAR's mercenaries could still reach them.

"It looks like everything's been handled already, so all that's left for me to do before you deploy is to wish you good luck and happy hunting~!"

Hearing those words from a cheery young girl was surreal. Sometimes, she wondered just who was behind VALKYRIE's design and personality, and why the hell they chose it in the first place.

Not that she minded, though.

The mission briefing had been simple, really.

A large corporate mercenary force sent by Ultima Universal had set up shop on Bifrost's moon, Himinbjorg. This wasn't the best news, not just for their client(she was pretty sure they were corpo themselves. Probably Hasegawa-Erichtson) but also for Bifrost itself. Sure, it wasn't like the average corp was dumb enough to tangle with EINHERJAR head-on, but there was plenty they could do to try to exploit the planet and its people without doing so.

Not like any corp was totally clean, but Ultima Universal was definitely one of the nastier ones.

They were apparently doing some kind of mining operation, but on top of that they were also receiving a high-value package. If she had to guess, it was probably some dark tech from the war or stuff that either the UEC or the LTS didn't want being found.

The point was, it was their job to take Ultima Universal's operation down. The mission was to split into two squads and land on the moon, with one squad wiping out their defenses so they couldn't fight back and the other taking out their communications so they couldn't call for help. After that, inflicting as much financial damage as possible by destroying as much of their operation as possible. Making it seem like an unappealing investment, basically.

There was a bonus for taking out any of their higher-spec hardware, and finally they had to secure the package. Whatever dark tech or government secret was waiting for them.

Valika grinned to herself, leaning forward on her AUG's dashboard.

Even if the client was a corp too, she was fine with it. It didn't sound like they were interested in the facility, given how they wanted it pretty much wiped out. Just the package.

As long as Momo and her got to annihilate the main threat and get paid, it all worked out.

And she was nothing but confident in her machine.

She opened her comms.

"Alrighty, we've got VALKYRIE's blessing, who's ready to go?!"

Currently, the EINHERJAR mercenaries were riding in two separate ships. Given their close proximity to Himinbjorg, they were already onboard their AUGs.

They'd be dropped off some distance away from the target, but once there they'd been in the thick of things pretty quickly.

"I sure am," she continued, "Momo's gonna tear right through those Ultima MAs."
