Juana Perez
-Feyhollow Town - Feyhollow Wood-
"There better not be anything but Butch through those trees," Juana said, marching in the direction Leavanny pointed out (careful not to step in any webs). She waded through the bushes and emerged in a clearing. There were pawprints all over the ground, all of which led into a dead end by a bunch of flowers and briars. Juana looked up, and spotted a myriad of Pokémon staring back. Hoothoots, a Gligar, some Butterfree... they all had a strange, dazed expression, as if in some sort of trance.
Juana stepped back. "Well, this is unsettling," she muttered.
A Beedrill wandered into the clearing. Suddenly, a huge Comfey jumped out of the bushes and started spinning wildly. The Comfey was about a foot larger than normal size, and had a myriad of more colorful flowers adorning its tail. A sickly-sweet pungent odor filled the clearing, causing Juana to become a little dizzy. The Beedrill's eyes dimmed; the Comfey had put it under some kind of spell.
Comfey turned towards Juana and gave a sneaky grin.
Suddenly, it loosed a Fairy Wind attack upon Juana, sending her and Bounsweet reeling back into the bushes. "HOLY--" Juana started, before tumbling into the brambles. "OW-AGH!"
Bounsweet squealed.
Lord have mercy, if we get out of this I am never making a joke about Comfey again, Juana thought, struggling to pull herself out of the bushes.
Comfey spun again, this time prompting the swarm of Butterfree to rush at the three trainers with a Tackle. Juana and Bounsweet ducked.
"Skorupi!" Juana called, as she waved off the Butterfree. She tossed the ball and Skorupi popped out, eyeing the giant Comfey.
"Poison Sting!" Juana ordered.
Skorupi skittered forth and jabbed its tail into Comfey's body for super-effective damage. The Comfey reeled back and growled in a very un-cutesy fashion.
The massive lei-monster whirled around and around, making hooting noises. In a flurry, the Hoothoots sailed into the fray, their eyes blank, their beaks poised for Skorupi's carapace. Juana ripped herself out of the brambles and on top of Skorupi, protecting it from the relentless owl pecks. "Bounsweet, Rapid Spin!" Juana shouted.
Bounsweet got the owls off Juana's back--literally. Juana was covered in scratches, and her shirt was torn where the Hoothoots were the roughest. Juana felt something damp and warm spread out on her shirt, and swore under her breath.
She looked up when she heard a deep howl.
"Uh, muchachos?" she gulped, standing up and watching the bushes rustle.
A dark shape leaped out of the bushes with a fearsome bark.
"I think we found our lost dog."
