"Humanity takes great pride in three things. Their willpower, their greed and their mortality.

Their will and endless greed allows them to grow and accend past other creatures
But their mortality denies them divinity

It's a delightful purgatory between being Fallen and being Divine"

@Restalaan@ShwiggityShwah@Stern Algorithm

Ada was still a bit surprised with the huge zombie she saw outside but seeing how Ozzy reacted to her having found her, it was, apparently a good thing. They had found the square paper thing they wanted but they had to get it from the huge zombie. When Ozzy proceeded to point at her almost as if he wanted her to do something though, Ada tilted her head confused.

It did take some time but thanks to the fact that Ozzy was using a piece of chalk to explain the entire plan, Ada was able to understand it perfectly well, nodding her head as she listened to him. Without much time to talk about the plan, as soon as he finished to explain it, he went outside with her. Ada didn't hide her excitement the moment he lifted her off the ground by the shoulders. It was only for a small moment, just enough so Ozzy could get to where the zombies were, but Ada still thought it was fun. The moment he dropped her though, she knew what she had to do.

According to the plan, she was supposed to distract the zombies and lead them away, but it soon became clear even to Ada that something was incredibly wrong. A loud noise and a cloud of dust appeared when the mass of zombies fell through the ground. There was still a good amount of zombies that were going after Ozzy and towards Ada, but the biggest part of the horde, that fell through the ground, was probably going after the rest of the group.

Not knowing what to do, Ada looked towards Ozzy, to the rest of the horde and then to Ozzy again. Outrunning the zombies was easy for Ada but it wouldn't be as easy to the others. Not only that but despite the fact that Ada herself could deal with a few zombies, their numbers were still a real threat by themselves, not even counting the huge zombie that had the map.
She could keep following the plan despite the unforeseen circumstances or she could go back and try to help the remaining group... The problem was that if she did go back, the zombies that were currently going after her would go back as well...

Undecided about what to do, Ada looked at Ozzy, confused. If he took too long though, she would simply try to go back to where the zombies fell through the ground and try to draw their attention. If they focused on her, she would still be able to outrun them so it could also work...

Freyr

Freyr wasn't surprised on how Kira reacted to George's bribe offer but still... the situation was more complicated than it seemed to be at first. Selling drugs, even if they were 'safe' was still morally unacceptable... Despite that, there was still a lot of things that could and should be taken in consideration when deciding if what George did was 'acceptable' or not.

"Many things should be taken in consideration if we want to decide if what George is doing is 'right' or 'wrong'... Are the drugs really that harmless? Do they make the users dependent or addicted to them...?" Freyr started talking with a distant stare, thinking about what was happening.

"Even if the drugs are completely harmless, it is still morally unacceptable. But why? If it's really not harming anyone in any way... There shouldn't be a reason... Or is it wrong simply because it's wrong?" Freyr asked to no one in particular.

"Still... I can't condone what George does, despite the points that I've just mentioned. It is undeniable that we need funds to do something about Ravager's Rest and maybe in the future... Varjo. Between someone who sells harmless drugs and bandits, monsters that don't even hesitate in stealing, killing and destroying other's lives... Which one is the worst?" Freyr asked, looking to Kira and then to George.

"I don't want to make a decision alone, not only because you are here with me but because I myself don't know what to do but... Have you ever met or saw what those people both at Ravager's Rest and Varjo itself are capable of doing?" Freyr asked, with a grim expression on his face.

"I don't feel well by simply letting someone who sells drugs keep doing so but... There are more pressing issues that need solving... In the same way, I don't want to be part of or help someone who does such things..." Freyr concluded as he looked at Kira. It was obvious both to Kira and George himself that Freyr was conflicted regarding what to do.

At first, Myra didn't really understand why Artemis didn't seem to like fish. It wasn't something Myra herself ate often as she preferred meat, but the way Zorrah prepared the fish made it really, really tasty. Since Artemis was a mermaid, Myra thought she probably hunted fishes to eat but judging by her reactions, it didn't seem it was really her choice of food. The moment Myra offered her meat though, Artemis hungrily took and ate it, making Myra smile, satisfied that the mermaid woman was liking the food, despite the fact that Myra wasn't the one who prepared it, instead she only ate...

After finishing, once again, putting a sizeable dent on the kitchen's provisions, especially meat, Myra gently grabbed Artemis' hand as she went to her and Darius' room, wondering if Artemis would like the soft and fluffy bed that Myra herself liked so much on the first day she arrived. As she gently took Artemis by her hand though, Myra started to think... Artemis was a mermaid, that meant she liked water... Then maybe she would be like Darius that was much more moved and happy with the bathroom and the shower than the bed itself... Despite that, Myra thought that Artemis would definitely like the room.

The moment they arrived on the room though, both Myra and Artemis would be surprised to meet no one other than Darius himself passed out on the bed. Just from a single glance, both were able to see that Darius was incredibly exhausted. While being careful to not wake him up, Myra moved a bit closer, curiously looking at the still sleeping Darius. The moment she did so, she realized that his hair was somehow... different. It had a different color than it had before. Myra didn't think much of it, simply finding it curious and a bit strange, since she was already accustomed with Darius' hair having the same color. After inspecting him and his new hair, Myra tried to gently push him to one side of the bed. She wanted to show Artemis how fluffy and comfortable it was but Darius was simply taking most of the space...

Kalla

It was very exhaustive but Maeve somehow managed to keep up with Neev, who despite being even more tired than she already was and having already exhausted her magic, kept running from one patient to another to help them. Even though Maeve wasn't exactly skilled with healing magic, Neev's orientation showed to be quite clear and precise, making it easy for her to help. Maeve did notice how the healer girl didn't react to the fact that the man was a Grusk. She was still a bit careful around him but seeing how Neev herself had no different reaction, she simply kept her thoughts to herself.

It did take a good amount of time, but thanks to everyone's efforts and Neev's instructions, they were finally reached a point where they could say that they had 'finished', at least for now. Unsurprisingly, Neev instantly collapsed the moment they were finished, being caught mid air by a man who was also in the temple to help. After taking her somewhere to rest, the man returned to thank Maeve for her support.

"It was indeed incredibly exhausting... Her dedication to her work is admirable though. It was lucky that I was here to help though as she was starting to show clear symptoms of magic exhaustion." Maeve said, stretching herself as she nodded to Vog after he said that he was tasked to keep her safe.

"It's probably best for me to rest as well. Opponents of the level of those bandits would never make me tired, but using healing magic, which I'm not that proficient with, for long periods of time sure made me exhausted." Maeve finished as she retired herself to rest even if for a bit.

It was already dawn but she slept only a few hours before the entire attack began. The moment she was on her way to Allard's inn though, she was met with quite a peculiar sight outside. Balancing himself on the tip of the pillar on the center of the square, a mysterious figure waited, alone. Wearing a basket helmet and occasionally producing puffs of smoke from the pipe it had was simply there, waiting, almost as if it was waiting for someone or something to happen. Despite having only taken a brief glance at the figure, it was enough for her to realize that, whoever that was, had a magic aura so powerful it was almost palpable.

Gently putting her hand on her rapier, Maeve approached the square, stopping some distance away from the monument, looking at the strange figure on top of it. The more she looked at the figure, the stranger it got. It was carrying a heavy farm hoe, replete with unmistakable blood stains and carrying a weird, dried up hand on his belt. The strange figure seemed to be studying Maeve just as curiously as Maeve was staring back at it.

"Who are you?" Maeve finally asked, looking at the strange figure. Despite the fact that Maeve had still a calm tone in her voice, the fact that she had her hand in her rapier and her piercing stare were enough to tell the figure that she didn't trust it. Maeve was doing her best to hide the fact that she was exhausted, but she would appreciate if she could avoid a confrontation at the moment.

The psychic scents in the air were still a clear indication to anyone who was sane enough that it wasn't a good idea to get closer. Without a clear line of sight nor any way to know what was happening inside, Mikhail was still curled in the corner with the same disguise. Still, the silence and the fact that he was completely in the dark regarding what was happening inside was bothering him, still, he knew that he shouldn't act hastily. From the few words he was able to hear and the lack of commotion, they were probably talking and the situation didn't turn into a bloodbath... yet.

It was then that Mikhail felt a frightening power in the air, coming from inside the bookstore. It was almost as if the air itself shook, accompanied shortly by a loud sound of something being thrown on the wall and a surge of power. Knowing that something happened, Mikhail immediately activated his sight shield as he got up in a jump and dashed inside the store. Getting inside, he erased his presence as much as he could as he used his craft wires around the room, spreading them in a deadly trap almost as a spider weaves it's webs. Strangely enough, when he was about to act, the situation defused itself as suddenly as it became. That said, it didn't end with both sides unscathed... Jandar had sustained some wounds thanks to the black jeweled man's power but other than that, Fatima was still fine.

As the mysterious black jeweled man left, Fatima went to check on his wounds. Taking this moment to remove his wires, Mikhail showed himself the second he heard Jandar saying that the man wasn't an enemy.

"He is an enemy until proved otherwise. He could have killed you both. Before putting yourselves in such situation again, be prepared for what could happen. I can't have the luxury of just 'threatening' him if something like this happens again. If I need to act, someone will die..." Mikhail said, with piercing words and an equally piercing stare to both Fatima and Jandar.

"Luckily, it won't be me..." Mikhail said in a lower tone.

"I will follow your lead." Mikhail finished, confirming he would follow their plans as he got out of the bookstore again.

Karina heard carefully as Lynx mentioned his idea. She had never thought about that herself but what he said indeed made sense. At least in theory, the sightless shouldn't be able to see them, as they're made of light. The thing about Lynx's idea though was that it was still a gamble. They would have to be fast and deliver their message accurately, which was indeed going to be a challenge for Sil, who unfortunately misunderstood when Lynx said they would exchange places, transforming herself in a cute mammal with wings.

"Indeed. I don't feel good waiting, but just as you said, were outnumbered and should only fight after and if the royal guards-" Karina began to say, agreeing with Lynx but was interrupted when she saw Sil falling down the hole in the center of the room.

"I just hope she understood what she has to do..." Karina said, with a sigh.

It was then that Ferris said something interesting. His suggestion to force the royal guards to fight was a very good one, but only if they were careful.

"That... Could work. If we somehow can start a fight between both of them without showing ourselves first... A single attack, make the cultists believe that it came from the guard's side..." Karina said, thinking. She knew that it wasn't really the best situation to be thinking about a plan, but the best course of action right now was to wait for the chance to so something instead of blindly throwing themselves.

Meanwhile, the sightless, the guards and Tyfurkh were still downstairs. Fortunately, the situation was still under control. While Hark started interrogating the sightless of what happened, receiving some dubious answers from the same, Tyfurkh himself, despite his state, began trying to tell the guards what really happened.

"Damn... I don't think the guards will do anything if things continue like this. Somehow, the cultists seem to have the same authority as the guards under certain situations... If I had my magic I could do a long range attack, try to make it almost imperceptible to try and start a fight but.." Karina said as she gently rubbed the place where Smit's knife grazed her earlier, confirming that the deterrent was still working.
Ada

Despite the zombies' relentless attacks, thanks to the efforts of all the group combined, the plant sisters' vine attacks, Haley who helped Neil when he was attacked and Ditzy carrying the plant sisters inside the church, they quickly found themselves in a relatively safe inside the church. While the doors did protect them for now, the zombies simply wouldn't stop that easily.

After checking if everyone was unharmed and being satisfied with the results of that small check, Ada went to the window to watch the zombies while the group discussed. She was paying attention on their conversation for some time looking confused as the group discussed possible strategies in order to get out of there alive. But as some of them pointed out, there was still the square paper thing that Ozzy explained to her. If they didn't have that "map" they would fail the mission.

It was then that Ada saw on the outside, a huge zombie, much bigger than the rest and mean looking. Much to her surprise, that big zombie was holding something that looked a lot like the "map" Ozzy and the group were searching for. Reaching towards anyone who was near her with her free hand, she tried to get their attention while pointing to the big zombie outside.

Freyr

It was a pleasant surprise that Freyr had met with someone who was invited by Bartholomew himself, as it became clear as the monster girl continued talking. The guild master seemed to have a good eye for judging potential members and the girl in question seemed quite capable of holding her own on a fight.

"Indeed it is quite a coincidence. Once again, thanks for your help. I'm Freyr, it's a pleasure to meet you." Freyr said, extending his hand towards the monster girl in a greeting.

After then incident with the goblins, the rest of the trip was mostly peaceful, with nothing really happening in the meantime... Until they arrived on their destination, that is...

Much to their surprise, the first thing they saw on the neutral town was a wanted poster, featuring no one but George Cpstava himself, their contractor. Amongst the accusations were forgery of information and sale of illegal substances...

Before Freyr could ask anything though, George was quick to turn to him and Kira, trying to explain himself, saying that the drugs he sold were free of demon energy, high quality and other excuses. Despite what he was doing being illegal, he did have a good point... Funding their operation to take down the Ravager's Rest would take money... And they would need to gather it one way or another...

"I... Don't know about this..." Freyr said, thinking and obviously still undecided about what to do...

"We indeed need funds for our operation on Ravager's Rest but I can't really condone something such as drugs. That said... If it has to happen, at least it's good if we know the origin and that they're. It dangerous..." He continued, looking to Kira after he finished, waiting for her input in the matter.
Sorry for the delay, will have a post done tomorrow! ^^

Returning to the castle, now accompanied by Artemis, Darius soon left them with Lol to resume whatever both of them would do. Left alone with Artemis, Myra reminded where and how they found her. She certainly should be quite hungry. If Myra gave Artemis some food, then maybe she would let Myra see her tail up close, maybe even touch it!

Gently grabbing Artemis hand, Myra made a short hand signal for her to follow her as she took the mermaid to Zorrah. Even though Myra had known Zorrah for only a short time, she knew very well that the woman was a good one, especially since she never denied Myra's request to give her more meat than she would a normal person. Surely, she wouldn't deny feeding another mouth... Right?

Myra's assumptions shortly showed themselves to be correct as she met Zorrah and knew she was more than willing to feed the mermaid too. Giving Myra the usual huge platter of cooked meat, rare, just like Myra liked. Even though Myra most of the times ate only meat, Zorrah enjoyed showing Myra new things and watching her reaction upon eating them. This time it was a strange colored fish. Even though it was cooked, Myra could tell by the color and the smell that it was different from the fishes she sometimes caught to eat on the rivers. After taking one bite, they showed themselves to be surprisingly tasty.

Even though Myra didn't know exactly what Artemis ate, she remembered her as she looked at the cooked fish in front of her. She was a mermaid so she lived on water. That meant fishes were an easy source of food for her to hunt and eat... Right? After looking to the cooked fish and then to Artemis, she gently pushed the dish to Artemis, looking to her with a smile as she offered her the fish. After a moment, she looked at the cooked meat on the other platter too and before resuming eating, Myra thought that it would be a good idea to give one to Artemis. After all, she was weak and very hungry, and meat always solved both problems for Myra. Taking one of the large steaks with her claws, she put it on Artemis' plate, near the fish as she smiled at her, looking to the mermaid with a curious expression, waiting to see if she would accept her small 'gift'.

From his location, still sitting down and disguising himself as a beggar he had a decent view of what was happening at least in the store's front and the alleyway. He did notice how a young boy was spying Fatima, Jandar and Dareen. Mikhail was already expecting that they were being watched but since the situation at hand, with the dark power coming from inside the same bookstore that Fatima was, he couldn't afford to leave his position to chase a mere boy. Fortunately, after Jandar entered the store, Dareen noticed the boy and began following him soon as he ran away. Mikhail hoped she could take some answers from him if she caught the boy.

The other people were rightfully trying as best as they could to keep away from the bookstore. The feeling from having both an extremely dark jewel holder and a queen in the same place was so strong that it was like a beacon for anyone nearby to notice. Even if the strong psychic scent would probably keep most people away, it would most certainly attract the attention of powerful people, with jewels as dark as Mikhail or in the worst cases... Even the Queen herself...

As Jandar and Fatima headed deeper into the store, Mikhail lost track of them but unfortunately, he still couldn't leave his position. He knew too well that if something happened, the element of surprise against whoever was the one who had such dark jewel was the only thing that could give him an edge above his opponent and any chance to win.

If he could, Mikhail would love to enter the store and drag Fatima out before anything happened, but she had already put herself in quite a troublesome and delicate situation. It was already certain that whoever was the one that was emanating such a powerful dark power was already aware of Fatima's presence... Just as she was aware of his...
Nori Hirai

@medalliah@Spectral@IceHeart

Nori was never the type to like crowds that much but festivals and big holidays were exceptions. The festive atmosphere was always pleasing, many people took the day off and even if for a single day, they forgot about all their worries, about work and simply enjoyed the town. For a moment, life slowed down from it's usual chaos and people found time to be kind, to smile.

Nori had already been stopped by a number of people as he walked through the streets, some admiring the unique and beautiful design, some asking for pictures but it was indeed quite good to see people interested on his art, even though it was only his kimono.

Surprisingly enough, as he walked, he saw someone with clothes as colorful and striking as his own. When he approached it though, he was surprised to notice that the girl with the flashing attire, a colorful native outfit, was speaking with no one other than Liam and Emily, two whom Nori had already met before, when fighting against the creature.

"Your acquaintance? Quite the beautiful and interesting outfit!" Nori said, waving towards Liam and Emily as he approached them and the strange girl.

"Hey Liam, Emily. Quite some time since our last meeting. Fortunately, this time we met in better circumstances." Nori said with a smile as he greeted Liam and Emily.
