"Humanity takes great pride in three things. Their willpower, their greed and their mortality.

Their will and endless greed allows them to grow and accend past other creatures
But their mortality denies them divinity

It's a delightful purgatory between being Fallen and being Divine"

Mikhail watched silently as Denvar approached Sybl and tried to make some small talk. Despite his attempt, it was painfully obvious for Sybl that he wasn't trusted there and that his movements were being closely watched. With Gennar leaning against the wall near the stairs in order to prevent Sybl to go up in case he tried, it was clear that it would be foolish for him to try to do anything right now as all eyes were on him.

Focusing his attention on Jandar's words as he began talking a bit more about the invitation and the local queen, Mikhail couldn't help but have a bad feeling about her as Jandar described the queen. A queen concerned with her own image... One could assume she might be quite egocentric and selfish. Either foolish or, if they were unlucky, a scheming queen. Whether it was on purpose or simply a coincidence, it seemed like the queen's invitation was made in such a manner that they had no other alternative but to attend it. Either that or be sure that they were already far away from there before the dinner began.

As Jandar approached Fatima he began communicating with her via their minds, a smart choice considering they had a warlord prince that was part of the local queen's court hearing everything they were talking. Staying in silence, Mikhail listened to their conversation, only to figure out that Xandar, whom was the reason for them to go to the local queen in the first place, was either already captured or even gone. Either way, it would be hard for Fatima but Mikhail agreed with Jandar. There was no way they would be able to get him back. That said, even though Jandar still considered accepting the invitation as a choice, Mikhail was certain that nothing good would come out of interacting with a queen. More than simple prejudice, it was one of his rules and one of the reasons why he was never caught or killed.
Ada

Ada smiled happily as Nero patted her head, agreeing to let her help him to make the food. Even though she didn't know how to cook at all, she could still perform basic tasks. Not only that, but her help also meant that her food would be ready even faster, which was a very good thing!

After the food was finally ready, Nero handed it to her. Finally having the steak she was so eagerly waiting for in front of her, ready for her to eat, Ada didn't make any ceremonies before she began eating it with gusto. Just as she was in the middle of eating it though, someone shouted from afar for them to watch out. Before Ada could turn her head though, smoke went off everywhere, obscuring their view.

Still with a piece of meat hanging in her mouth, Ada looked around, confused and trying to understand what was happening. Nero's voice sounded like he was fighting with someone but due to the smoke, Ada couldn't really locate where he was and due to the surprised exclamations from the people around her. When the smoke finally disappeared, thanks to Kira's wind, the group noticed that despite everyone being fine, Nero had disappeared completely.

Talia, whom apparently was the one who tried to warn them about the smoke, arrived soon after, explaining to them what had happened. According to her words, the one behind such confusion was no one other than the spider lady. The same who almost started a fight with Yang a while ago. Ada listened quietly, finishing to eat her meat while Talia explained to everyone. When it was finished though, Ada looked around, almost as if asking what she should do now. Just as she did that though, she heard Kira saying about her going to find the others, mentioning how she was fast. Initially, Ada approached her, thinking that she could also help her, since she was also very fast, but Kira flew away immediately after she spoke.

When Yang started to explain what they would do, Ada approached her as she spoke about chasing the spider lady. She knew she could catch the spider lady or at least help Yang, so when Yang ran away after the spider woman, she would find Ada following her without much trouble if she looked down from the rooftops.

Freyr

Freyr was caught by surprise, flinching a bit as Haley yelled his name, flushing and blushing after what he spoke. Even though she was clearly embarrassed, much like Freyr himself, she was quite serious when she asked if Freyr really liked her. Once again surprised with Haley's sudden question, Freyr didn't know how to react about it, looking away as he blushed too. He wasn't really experienced with that kind of stuff, nor he was the type of person who would open himself and freely talk about his own feelings.

When Haley began talking again though, clearly confessing that she liked him, Freyr became even redder, in what was quite an unexpected sight for someone who was mostly always quiet and composed as he was. Despite how awkwardly he was reacting to Haley's confession, it was clear by his expression, the discreet smile on his face that he wasn't reacting in a bad manner.

Forcing himself to look at Haley when she finished speaking, clearly asking about his own feelings, Freyr took a bit to find the words to speak to Haley.

"I... Since I met you I... was captivated by you, Haley." Freyr said, stumbling on his own words, clearly struggling to voice his own feelings.

"Your bright smile, your happy and cheerful personality, your beauty, how you care about those near you..." he continued.

"You make me feel... lighter... happier, satisfied just by being near you..." Freyr said, looking away for a bit.

"I... Like you, Haley. I didn't know you felt that way for me, I thought you weren't interested, I..." he said, still struggling to find the words he wanted.

"I tried to distance myself because of that... I didn't want to keep trying only to be rejected..." he finished, forcing himself to look at Haley once again, despite how embarrassed he was.

Just after he finished speaking though, being too embarrassed to notice what Sir Reed said before, Kira arrived, interrupting them before Haley could say anything else. While at first Kira asked if she was interrupted something, she quickly continued, telling them how one of the contestants for the cooking show had been kidnapped.

"Uh... We should probably... Leave this conversation for later then... Probably when we are... alone..." He said, trying unsuccessfully to regain his composure.

"I will... go ahead to try and track down whoever did this then..." Freyr said, awkwardly before he dashed away. It was clear for Haley that being interrupted and caught in such an embarrassing conversation by Kira too, other than Sir Reed was too much for Freyr, who was already someone who had troubles with such things.

Taking off the earphone she was still using on her right ear after stopping the music, Ylva was merely waiting for them to finish their meals. She was a bit relieved that Luke also didn't seem to want to talk about his problems, having politely declined Millie's offer to talk about it. That said, it was surprising to see how interested both Millie and Luke appeared to be when she told about her homeland. While Millie simply stood in silence despite the big, shiny eyes she showed when Ylva talked about it, Luke insisted a bit further for her to talk about it, which was intriguing to say the least. Ylva wasn't really expecting anyone to be that interested about such an old and ancient place. Experience showed her that such places tended to attract a very distinct kind of people.

"It is a place that tends to attract the attention of some very... distinct types of people." Ylva said with a chuckle as she looked at him, raising an eyebrow.

"That said, not many stories that wouldn't include my private life." she said, looking to Luke in what was a clear sign for him to not pry much further regarding her past.

With both Luke and Millie having finished their dishes though, it was about time for them to pay for their food and leave.

"Well, I already paid mine so I'm good to go whenever you want." Ylva compleded, shrugging as she got up, turning around to wave towards the guy who served her the sandwich.

When Ylva was about to put her earphones on again though, before turning towards Millie and Luke again, she listened quite the interesting words coming from Luke's mouth in a very low tone. Words from a language that even though she didn't talk, she knew who did and who still used. Hearing that immediately made her let out a discreet smirk. She knew that there was something off with that man. Her instincts and her senses were always right. Knowing what he was, she also knew that despite being physically weak and slow like any human, they were very, very crafty and problematic to deal with. Even though the ones that were primarily her and her pack's foes were vampires, they had to deal with a few magic users every now and then. Other than the old covens who lived in the same ancient lands as the werewolves and had somewhat of a peaceful relationship with them, many which even respected and had the same old traditions as the Asulf clan, there were also those who were on the side of the vampires.

"Those are some very interesting words you just spoke, Luke." she said, turning towards Luke with a sharp stare that would be enough to make any normal person to feel extremely unnerved.

The way she was looking at Luke was a clear indication that she knew what he was and that she didn't trust him, now more even than before. She was getting more and more suspicious about Luke and it was obvious to him that he now had her full attention.

"It seems I'm not the only one with 'stories' to tell, am I?" Ylva said, still looking at Luke with the same sharp stare from before, looking deep within his eyes.

"But I did say I wouldn't insist on knowing about your problems, or your past in that matter..." Ylva said, finally breaking eye contact with Luke.

"It is only fair, after all. I guess every person has stories that they don't want to share with strangers..." she continued, shrugging.

Even though she didn't speak it clearly, the message she wanted to tell Luke was clear. Even though she apparently knew what he was, she didn't particularly care about it. She would leave him alone, as long as he did the same to her. While it was clear she didn't trust him, their relationship wasn't outright hostile as long as he didn't do anything funny.

"There is no need to thank me. It was a nice change of pace to eat breakfast with such an interesting company." Ylva said, smiling as she replied to Millie, who thanked both of them for eating with her before inviting them to take that walk she promised.
Sorry for the delay! Going to have a post done tomorrow! :-)

Even though Mikhail knew they had no other option but to accept the price the old priestess gave them, he couldn't help but close his eyes, looking away for a second, sighing as Fatima agreed with the price. It was indeed a steep price and judging by Fatima's expression and the time she took to reply, she knew that as well. They would need to find a way to keep the black jeweled man under control. Otherwise, he could be a risk to the entire group.

As Fatima curtsied the old priestess and thanked her for her support, followed by a brief bow from Mikhail himself, she turned away from the old priestess, offering a smile towards both Mikhail and Gennar. Surprisingly, before they started making their way back to the inn though, Fatima took Mikhail's hands on her own, looking at him and thanking him for the words he said about her. Such gesture took Mikhail by surprise, as he wasn't expecting to be thanked by Fatima like that, especially seeing how heartfelt her words were.

"I... was merely stating the truth. You indeed are... different from the other queens." Mikhail said, without knowing how to react to what she had said very well.

"Apparently, maybe even enough to earn even the trust of someone like myself..." Mikhail thought as they made their way back to the inn.

Back at the inn, the situation seemed to have calmed down, judging by the scene they saw when arriving: both Denvar and Dareen toasting each other with an amber colored drink. That said, upon noticing them, Denvar's smile towards Gennar as he greeted them wasn't exactly 'friendly' but it was still better than nothing.

Just as Mikhail was going to sit down though, Jandar arrived through the door. What they weren't expecting though was the fact that he had someone with him. Someone that they had never seen before and most importantly, someone they couldn't trust. Both Gennar and Denvar immediately stood up, standing in front of Fatima, shielding them from the stranger. Mikhail, upon seeing the stranger, simply let go of the chair, giving up on the idea of sitting down as he stood still, watching the stranger with cold eyes and a watchful gaze.

When Jandar began explaining who was the stranger and why he was there though, Mikhail's expression didn't change even one bit. Until it was proven the contrary, the local queen was still a potential enemy and having a stranger, under her orders near them wasn't really a good idea. Even if Jandar also seemed to dislike the idea of having a 'guide', as he himself mentioned, Mikhail still didn't like the situation. Even though the stranger didn't appeared to be exactly capable... or even healthy, Mikhail knew best than to underestimate someone based solely on their appearance. Mikhail kept his eyes on Sybl, as he went towards the counter to ask for something.

Despite Mikhail's silence, not much was needed for anyone from the group to figure out what he was thinking. It was already a known fact for them, who were traveling with him for some time already, that Mikhail hated anything that was beyond his 'control', any 'variable' in his plans.

"This queen... What do you have to say about her?" Mikhail said, finally opening his mouth as he asked Jandar about the local queen.

"Drawing a queen, any queen's attention is rarely a good thing." Mikhail said, in a lower tone as he approached Jandar, being careful for not being heard by the guide.

After the blow Myra took, she wasn't able to feel, hear nor see much in her barely conscious state before going unconscious. The only thing she remembers seeing was the black wolf creature being struck by multiple spells before turning into a small boy and going unconscious before she felt something grab her. Without strength to resist or protest, after that it was all just darkness. Myra wondered if she would ever put herself into such situation if she didn't meet all the people she had met so far. Running away from that creature would be much easier and safer than trying to lure it away from her friends. Was she going to die? Even if the creature was down, there was still the huge demon sucking everything into his chest and a lot of other stuff happening at the ballroom.

While Myra was still drifting in and out of consciousness, she noticed a few scarce things. The ground moving below her, the way her body and the place she was in moved up and down, scarce pieces of information that weren't able to tell Myra much other than that she was being carried away by someone or something. She was still dizzy and couldn't feel or think very well to ascertain the state her body was at the moment. Even opening her eyes was still hard for her and despite her efforts, she fell unconscious again and once more, darkness fell over her eyes and mind.

Some time after, Myra finally opened her eyes again. Alarmed, Myra struggled and trashed a bit before she regained her balance as she jumped down from whatever it was that she was on. Assuming a low posture, still incredibly alarmed, afraid and feeling cornered, she looked around, baring her teeth and claws as she growled and hissed as she looked towards the people who were near her. It did take a while until she situated herself enough to realize she wasn't inside the ballroom anymore, nor she seemed to be in immediate danger. Only then Myra stopped hissing and growling, realizing that one of the people that were near her was Mathis. Even though seeing a familiar face was a bit relieving for Myra, she didn't know the others, which made her maintain an alarmed posture, ready to bolt away. Even though she did remember barely seeing them back in the ballroom, Myra didn't know if they were allies or not and judging by how Mathis had a stick in his hand, it seemed that he was still a bit uncertain about that as well.
Aiko Kamiya

Aiko couldn't stop laughing as she continued provoking them, completely not even aware of the fact that they were actually trying to capture her, maybe even hurt her, such it was the complete inability the trio of idiots had to do anything correctly. That said, they were still incredibly fun and amusing to watch, almost like if she was seeing a live comedy movie, one of those really old style ones.

That said, when one of them yelled for them to get her though, they started getting a bit faster and actually trying, which probably wasn't still enough to be a threat for Aiko, but which would make her pay a bit more attention on them and stop playing around so much.

"Have you guys thought on being comedians before instead of Don's thugs? You guys sure would make a lot of-" Aiko started, still having fun at their expense until she watched a molotov flying through the air, interrupting her. Even though it missed her, the direction it was going that was the real problem.

With her eyes wide open in alarm, Aiko watched helplessly as the bottle tumbled through the air before exploding in flames right on the doomrat's nest she was taking them.

"Oh... no." Aiko said just as she heard the cries of hundreds of doomrats, which were now into a frenzied rage after their nests were engulfed in fire. That was way, WAY worse than just scaring them with some lights and making they case you. Now they would go all out in a frenzy, trying to attack anything nearby.

"Shit, shit, shit! RUN IF YOU WANT TO SURVIVE!" Aiko yelled, as she stopped her rollerblades with all her might, turning right back where she came and dashed much and immediately dashed away in full speed, passing just nearby the three thugs as she yelled that.

It was clear to even the thugs that she was in her serious mode as she was going much faster than what she was before when playing around with them. It was a shame for the three lovable idiots but Aiko had to think about her own safety and if they didn't ran away seriously they would be torn into pieces by the swarm of doomrats.
Ada

@PaulHaynek@Rezod92

Ada couldn't help but to look at Yang with an eager expression before turning to Nero and nodding vigorously as Yang asked him to make some meat for her. Even though Yang's dish was tasty, meat was still Ada's favorite dish as a carnivore. Not only that but since she was accustomed with eating raw meat, cooked meat was already something new for her and the way Nero prepared it was even more interesting, new and tasty for Ada. When Nero agreed to make some more meat, Ada looked at him and licked her lips with the tip of her tongue in a fast motion, eagerly awaiting for her piece of meat. Even though Yang had mentioned she couldn't eat or prepare meat for some weird reason that Ada didn't understand, she offered herself to help Nero by cutting some other ingredients. Even though it was really weird for Ada to know that Yang didn't eat meat at all, the fact that she was going to help Nero meant that her meat would be done faster and that was all she cared about right now, especially with the smell making it hard for her to keep waiting for it to be ready.

While she waited though, even though the competition had already ended and there were few people left, Ada saw on the distance as Neil and the Altissima sisters approached. As Neil greeted them, Ada waved at him and the sisters, giving them a brief smile before she returned to carefully watch as Nero prepared the meat, with her eyes glued on him and Yang and every now and then, sticking the tip of her tongue outside her mouth and licking her lips.

As Neil asked about the competition and Kira began talking though, Ada turned away and stop staring at the food being prepared for a second, looking at Neil and the sisters and licking her lips while touching her stomach in a clear signal that the competition was indeed 'very tasty'.

Freyr

Freyr said nothing and simply stood in silence as his arrow intercepted the cupid's arrow. Despite the protests and the unsatisfied cries of both the other contestants and the people watching it, Freyr still said nothing. He knew it was highly unlikely that anyone else but another accomplished archer would be able to understand what was about to happen, to mentally trace the trajectory of the cupid's arrow in their mind and know that she was aiming at Haley instead of the apples. Due to that reason, Freyr didn't even bother to try and defend himself, simply staying silent as the judges announced that he was disqualified from the competition. For him, Haley's safety was way more important than winning a competition. Holding his head high with a dignified expression as he normally has, there was no shame in his face as he left the competition. Despite Sir Reed and Haley's clear opposite reactions to what happened.

When Haley angrily came to scold him, asking why did he do that, he simply stood quiet until she finished speaking. It wasn't a surprise she was angry at what happened, nor it was a surprise that she didn't understand what was about to happen.

"Hitting an arrow mid-flight does take much more skill than hitting an apple on free fall." Freyr said, calmly as he began trying to explain himself, before being interrupted by Sir Reed, whom apparently told Haley to calm down.

The moment she replied to him, still angry, Sir Reed mentioned in a confused expression, saying that he wasn't the one who told her that. From behind him then, no one other than the same cupid that was going to shoot at Haley revealed herself, which made Freyr immediately look at her with a cold, penetrating stare as he took his hands to the long hunting knives he always carried with him in a clearly threatening gesture despite his apparent calm posture. Why did she came to meet them? Did she have anything against Haley to target her like that?

"Chose your next words and movements carefully." Freyr said in a cold, cutting tone, before the cupid began saying anything.

As the cupid began explaining herself, Freyr still kept his hands on the hunting knives even though she had quite a calm tone in her voice. Instead of providing Freyr an explanation about what happened and her motives though, her words only made things even more confusing for him. Why did she show such a concern, not wanting a rift to be created between them when she was clearly going to shoot Haley? That made no sense at all. The moment the cupid said her next words though, Freyr finally understood everything, opening his eyes wide as he sighed and took his hands to his face, embarrassed and ashamed.

"I-I'm sorry for reacting like I did right now..." Freyr finally opened his mouth, clearly blushing both out of shame for acting in such a rash manner and embarrassed for what the cupid said about him and Haley.

"I... Didn't even consider that as what was happening... When I saw you aiming at Haley I simply intercepted your arrow out of instinct." he continued.

Freyr received the gift from the cupid with a small bow and with another silent apology before she disappeared in a flash of pink light and feathers. It didn't take much for anyone looking at those arrows to realize that they were indeed, special. As the cupid explained what they did, it became even clearer that they weren't just special, but powerful and undeniably dangerous. Even if they haven't won the contest, those arrows could indeed be very useful in the future, just as Sir Reed mentioned after the cupid was gone.

"I... have no idea. My body isn't exactly feminine nor I am trying to hide myself..." Freyr replied to Sir Reed, almost as confused as he was as he asked why nobody noticed he was a male other than the Cupid.

"I'm sorry. I was just trying to protect you..." he said, turning to Haley, still embarrassed as he looked down.

"I didn't even think about that... Thinking about it now, it is painfully obvious of what she was trying to do... She is a cupid... Still... I don't know if it would be the right thing for me to do... To simply look away and let it happen. Even if..." He said, clearly embarrassed and ashamed as he hesitated for a moment.

"Even if it might be in my interest to let her arrow hit you... You should be able to chose your own feelings... Without any interference or anyone making that choice for you." He finished, looking away.

"I am really sorry, Haley..." He finished, bowing down as he apologized himself, still avoiding looking directly at her, both out of embarrassment and shame for everything that happened.

Mikhail said nothing as Fatima began explaining her motives to the old priestess. In that situation, Fatima's pure honesty and good intentions would be much better than anything Mikhail could say or do for himself. Exactly as Mikhail was expecting though, Fatima proved his thoughts to be right. The way she spoke, by itself was already a clear indication to the old priestess of how different she was from the other queens. The way her feelings were clear behind her voice and expression, an undeniable proof of her pure and good intentions. As she spoke though, Mikhail couldn't help but to stop for a moment, realizing how he was coming to change his view and opinion about Fatima, which were now, much more different than they were when he first met her. That said, just as he said and was thinking himself, she was completely different from other queens... maybe, just maybe... Different enough to deserve his respect and loyalty... But that was something only the time would tell.

Mikhail found himself breathing easier, relieved when he heard the old priestess' next words, acknowledging that Fatima was indeed an 'unusual' queen and agreeing to help them. The old priestess would prepare a candle and open the portal, but when she mention that there would be a cost, Mikhail's expression immediately changed. Indeed, nothing ever was for free. The moment the old priestess mentioned her cost though, Mikhail couldn't help but be a bit worried. A black jeweled warlord prince was a ticking bomb. Unstable and dangerous. Even more than even Xandar. No matter that he had saved a young witch from being broken or that he was a good person, he was still incredibly dangerous and unstable.

Mikhail simply looked at Gennar and Fatima with a concerned expression after hearing the old priestess' words. It was still Fatima's decision but if they indeed agreed with that deal, they would need to have a way to control him.
