"Humanity takes great pride in three things. Their willpower, their greed and their mortality.

Their will and endless greed allows them to grow and accend past other creatures
But their mortality denies them divinity

It's a delightful purgatory between being Fallen and being Divine"

The sound of the heavy boots clanking as the soldiers suddenly started moving startled Myra a bit, making her look around warily. After a single order of the queen, the soldiers began moving in unison. It was but a moment until a group of very creepy hooded figures. With their robes almost touching the ground and their faces eerily hidden by the long hoods, Myra, who had just relaxed after the two dark elves that were speaking with Vrexen disappeared went right back to becoming very nervous.

As soon as the hooded figured began chanting, Myra felt all the hairs in her body stand on their end. The strange chant, while unsettling wasn't the real issue. What truly made Myra almost panic was the amount of dark magic they were using. An overwhelming feeling of dread took Myra over as she saw as she retreated to the far corner of the room as abyssal rifts began appearing in the room, one after another.

While the first, second and fifth creatures that gotten out of the rifts weren't that different from Vrexen himself, definitely menacing but nothing that bad and thus not exactly contributing that much to worsen Myra's panicked state, the other ones were completely different. Their monstrous forms and in some cases their sheer size made Myra unconsciously back away from them. She could feel that some of them could easily crush her with a single movement and their very appearances screamed that she should be careful around them.

If the dark magic used by the hooded figures or being in a closed room with strange, menacing creatures that could definitely crush her without much effort weren't enough to make Myra panic, Vrexen suddenly began shouting, which made Myra jump back, alarmed. Forgetting about her camouflage for a brief moment, her quick movement made her slightly translucent. Not enough to be easily noticeable, but definitely enough for a small light distortion to be noticed where she was standing.

A single warning was all it took from one of the creatures for Vrexen to stop screaming. The fact that Vrexen himself was submissive to those creatures was another warning to Myra that she should be very careful around them. Especially since the one that warned Vrexen for him to stop screaming didn't seem to be particularly against the idea of killing him if he continued. The creatures continued talking as their voices echoing through the room in an unsettling manner. Despite how much Myra wanted to leave, due to how she was positioned, not only the creatures were between her and the door, but opening the door would be a dead giveaway of her presence, particularly for the hooded figures that could use dark magic. Due to that, Myra did the only thing she could and backed into the farthest corner of the room and waited, without moving a single muscle.

Slowly but surely, the creatures were escorted by the soldiers out of the room. Which was good not only because it was one less thing for her to worry about, but also because they had left the door slightly open. Just enough for her to slip through it without being noticed.

Without taking her eyes of the hooded figures, she began making her way towards the door. In the middle of the way though, Vrexen once again started to scream, which made all the soldiers raise their weapons. Startled by his scream and afraid that somehow the soldiers had realized her presence and were raising her weapons at her, Myra immediately dashed towards the door, her camouflage failing to keep up with her speed as she did so, showing the outline of her body as a slight pale, translucent blur.

Nuallán silently watched from as Caelan, after taking the dress Rosaria bought to him, went to deliver it to Sophie, who had a very positive reaction to it, mesmerized by the dress as she twirled it with her hands. Despite the first impressions back when the humans were summoned, they seemed to mostly be reacting positively to each other's presence and even with the company of other elves, as it became evident when Aurora arrived and the warm reception she was given. Even Jomari, who left a terrible first impression, seemed to be acting in a more agreeable manner, talking with Sophie about clothes and even introducing himself, just like the others did.

Nuallán couldn't help but to find Rosaria's reaction to his teasing words absolutely adorable. While he was caught a bit off-guard by her wraping her arms around his shoulder and the words she said back to him, he quickly regained his composure, finding it amusing that Rosaria was almost successful in teasing him in almost the same way he did to her. Fortunately, the years and years of being a butler taught him how to keep his composure very well. She would have to try harder if she wanted to catch him completely off guard.

"You flatter me, my lady." he said with an amused laugh and a kind smile as he looked at her.

Even though he knew how strong Rosaria was, it was truly refreshing to see her reacting not like a princess or someone who had to shoulder the expectations of an entire kingdom, but as a normal woman. These small moments where Nuallán could see Rosaria being honest with her feelings and just being herself were one of the reasons why he teased her, to remind her that she wasn't just the princess of the Sun Elf Kingdom, but that she was also herself, just Rosaria.

Nuallán was silently watching the surroundings when Jomari picked up a vial of poison, before asking some questions about how it worked that immediately made Nualláns calm expression turn into a cold, sharp one.

Nuallán did not need to know what the stare he gave to Rosaria was. He cared not if it was some type of joke, a veiled threat or something different. It wouldn't change the fact that even before that, he already didn't trust Jomari. The stare he gave was just one more thing to make Nuallán keep an eye on him. Even when Rosaria said he should give him another chance, he simply couldn't trust someone like him.

After a quick refusal and asking the shopkeeper to hide the vial of poison, Rosaria led the group through the city until they reached the jungle. The entire time, Nuallán kept a sharp eye on Jomari and their surroundings in case someone was following or watching them. Even if he had to ask for Rosaria's forgiveness later, he would rather not trust Jomari than ignoring his instincts and letting something happen to her.

Feeling Rosaria's gentle touch as she tapped his wrist, he discreetly nodded, signaling that he was hearing her, without reacting in a way that would let others know that they were talking to each other. Nodding once more, he agreed with her words. The possibility that Jomari would become a threat for Rosaria or the group was considerable, judging by the way he acted.

As the group continued, now entering the dense jungle, Nuallán continued in an alert state. Keeping his eyes and ears sharp to anything that might happen while keeping track of Jomari's movements and actions, making sure he always knew where he was.

Myra carefully heard as Vrexen spoke with the two dark elves. While she didn't entirely trust or even knew Vrexen, she still trusted him way more than most dark elves and definitely more than the two he was talking to right now. As they continued to talk though, Myra had an opportunity to learn more about Vrexen and the so called 'mother' he always kept talking about or 'Lilith', as he called her when explaining who he was.

Fortunately, the moment Vrexen finished explaining, the shadows began dissipating as the two dark elves became visible once again. Relieved that the shadows were gone, Myra continued to pay attention on the words that were being said by Vrexen. Myra was surprised once she heard that the 'mother' Lilith only wanted to find a place for their children to live. While she didn't really know who Lilith was or still thought that Vrexen was a bit scary, something that just wanted to find a place to take care of it's children couldn't be that bad, could it? Every creature, even in the forest, had instincts to protect their own children. Why she would chose someone as scary and intimidating as Vrexen to take her message was a mystery for Myra though.

As the two dark elves finally disappeared, Myra became way more relaxed, approaching Vrexen and giving a small tug on his tail just to let him know that she was still around as she waited and watched, still in her camouflage, to see what would happen next.

Kalla

Maeve didn't remember when it was the last time she kept awake until that late. The celebration, while undeniably enjoyable was equally exhausting. As such, Maeve woke up quite late on the next day, having rested for enough time to recover herself from the festivities on the last night.

After a long and well deserved night of sleep, Maeve woke up feeling well rested. After washing herself and putting on her clothes, she looked for her shoes before heading down to have breakfast. Much for her dismay, the moment she looked at them, she realized that the small ribbons on her shoes had disappeared.

"What?" Maeve exclaimed, very annoyed as she began searching around the room for the silk ribbons that decorated her shoes.

While she did drink a little bit last night, it was a fairly weak drink and she was far from even being tipsy, so she could clearly remember taking off her shoes, which still had the ribbons on them, before going to sleep.

"This is impossible... I am certain I did not take them off and they were right here last night!" She exclaimed.

Not only her shoes felt... incomplete without the ribbons, but they were also made of an expensive fabric, just like the rest of her clothes. While money wasn't exactly the problem, she was certain that she wouldn't be able to find replacements for them so soon.

Wearing her shoes despite not having found the ribbons, Maeve got down the stairs with heavy steps and a cold expression that was more than just an expression, as cold air emanated from her, making it clear that she was in an extremely bad mood.

"Someone stole the silk ribbons that were on my shoes last night..." she said in a very annoyed tone as she looked around, searching for anyone who might have a suspicious reaction to her words.

"Where will I find a replacement for it now?! Those were made of expensive silk!" she finished, clearly irritated.
Freyr

Arriving on the guild, Freyr and Haley were greeted by Vivian and Sylvia, in quite a bizarre scene. A dozen of giant rats and devil bugs peacefully eating lasagna that was being served by the sisters. Taking a while to absorb what he was seeing, Freyr simply stared at the ongoing scene, confused before Vivian delicately gave a quick idea of what was happening.

"Umm... Do you... need some help?" Freyr asked, unsure of what to do on that situation.

While Vivian did tell them that their... 'guests' would leave after eating, in case they didn't more forceful measures will have to be taken. That said, Freyr did understand the wink Vivian gave them and despite the bizarre situation, he simply tried his best to ignore it, unless he was forced to act.

"... Anyways... It was indeed a very exhausting day... With a couple of very unfortunate situations." Freyr agreed as Haley began explaining what happened.

While Freyr was a bit worried for Haley when she started talking about Samuel, he was visibly relieved noticing that Haley seemed to be feeling better about what happened, enough to talk about it in a light tone. What did made him a bit surprised though was when he realized that all the devil bugs and the giant mice had gathered near her to listen to her story.

When Haley mentioned that Freyr saved her though, he couldn't help but blush a little, a bit embarrassed before he replied.

"I wouldn't be a very good partner if I wasn't able to do at least this much to keep you safe." he said with a kind smile to Haley.

"Especially since I know I can sometimes be... a bit overprotective..." he said, with an awkward tone and an embarrassed chuckle.

Faye stopped for a moment, thinking as Amanda asked how big the map she needed was, before turning towards her and answering.

"Hm... Considering what I felt, just a complete map of Europe would be good enough." Faye replied as she looked to Amanda.

When Amanda projected a complete map of Europe in the wall, Faye approached it inspecting the map as she focused on the magic that she had felt from the remains of the portal spell once more. Slowly, Faye drew a line with her finger on the map, stopping when it was right in the very center of Belarus.

"It should be right about here..." She said, leaning forward to read the name of the city.

"...Minsk, is that right? It should be somewhere in this city. Right in the heart of Belarus." Faye completed looking to the group as she gave a few steps back from the map in the wall.

"Thank you for the map, Amanda! We should be able to search the city for the specific location of the ritual if we go there." She said, thanking Amanda with a smile.

"I don't know what we'll find there but I am curious... Especially after what Morgana mentioned, regarding the magic used being a very, very old one. Anyways! I am ready to go whenever you guys are!" Faye said with an excited expression as Amanda mentioned that they were about to finish investigating that particular site.

Nuallán smiled towards Rosaria as he heard her words. It was truly comforting to know she did rely on him. Not only as a proud butler, but also as someone who knew Rosaria for a very long time and knew how much was expected of her. Being able to be so kind while yet being so strong, reliable and proudly carrying the weight of her position on her shoulders was something very few people were able to do. It was exactly that, other than his pride as a butler from the Varnion family, that made Nuallán so dedicated to his position.

While the first impressions Nuallán had from Caelan weren't the best, he was still intrigued by the boy's enthusiastic behavior and despite the small outburst, he didn't seem to be a bad person. The fact that he mentioned he had some experience with the sword as he introduced himself was definitely good, since it was highly probable he would already have a decent base, both regarding his movements and his physical abilities. Polishing them even further would only require the boy's interest and enthusiasm, both of which he seemed to have plenty. The dark skinned human would be much more difficult to shape, but with enough effort, his wild temperament and his fire would certainly become strength for him. What did worry Nuallán though was knowing if said strength would be used in their favour or against them...

Interrupting his thoughts, Caelan called him, asking if he could do the same as him, before brushing his hair and showing Nuallán how he was able to move his ears. Nuallán was genuinely surprised by the fact a human, despite their small ears could even move them.

"I am more surprised to see that a human can move theirs." Nuallán said, genuinely surprised as he briefly moved his ears up and down.

"Judging by the form and shape of your ears, It's not like your race would have any use for the ability to move them." Nuallán said.

What did surprise him even more though was when Caelan suddenly mentioned how Sophie was staring at one of the dresses in the store and asked if it was okay for him to buy it for her in secret to surprise her later.

Hearing Caelan's words, Nuallán couldn't help but chuckle. It seemed that Caelan was interested in Sophie. Maybe Caelan was the peculiar one, but despite the situation they found themselves in, Humans could still afford to care about such things. Considering the difference in Caelan and Sophie's personalities, he would have to be careful to not overwhelm her with his enthusiasm at first though.

"Humans surely are intriguing..." he said to himself with a chuckle and a smile.

"I wish you luck in your courting, Mr. Caelan." Nuallán said, being careful so Sophie wouldn't hear while bowing down with a teasing grin.

Unsurprisingly, Rosaria was also ecstatic when she realized that Caelan had a crush on Sophie, handing the dress to Caelan after buying it with a wink.

It was at that moment that Aurora, who was the sun elf kingdom's spiritual advisor approached Rosaria, asking for her permission to accompany her. With a polite and respectful bow, Nuallán silently greeted her. Her presence would surely aid them in their journey. Not only due to her strong magic, but she was also an incredibly wise and had an undeniably brilliant mind.

"Bing able to accompany you is enough of a gift for me, Lady Rosaria." Nuallán said with a kind smile when Rosaria asked if he wanted anything.

"That and the adorable giggle you just gave." Nuallán said in a lower tone with a chuckle and teasing smile to her.

As Myra followed him, hearing the banter between the two soldiers as they spoke with Vrexen. While she didn't know a lot of things, she was slowly piecing things back together. He did say she was his 'sister' a lot, even though she had never met him and judging on how the guards said something about Vrexen being hated, Myra couldn't help but start to ask herself if that extended to her as well.

Even though Myra was camouflaged and moving herself as cautiously as possible, just being nearby the dark skinned people already made her on edge. She never really understood why they made her so on edge, especially since she always avoided contact with them, but it was almost as if something inside her head refused to see them as anything other than a threat. As Myra followed Vrexen and the guards inside the city, despite how nervous Myra was, she couldn't help but be amazed on how big the city was, despite being completely underground. Unfortunately, the fact that every single one of the dark skinned people was armed made Myra even more aware of how dangerous was that place and quickly forgetting about how amazing the city was.

Entering the main castle though, Myra's became even more nervous and on edge. Not only they said that they were going to meet a 'two headed dragon', and Myra knew how dangerous dragons were, there was something else... A very intense sense of foreboding. So much that even as Vrexen waited for him to be allowed to meet the 'dragon', Myra felt that she absolutely shouldn't go any further than where she was right now. Entering the dark skin people's city was already going against her instincts, but now they were speaking louder than ever. Staying as close as possible to either the door, a window or any opening she could use to flee from the castle, Myra waited to see what would happen next.

Myra was a bit disappointed when she heard Vrexen's reply regarding what was the big crystal thing was. Seeing how he kept saying he want to go to the dark skinned people's city to meet a serpent inside, she thought he knew much more about the dark skinned people than she did. The moment he looked at the crystal though, he let out an angered roar, flinching back. That reaction, coupled with the sharp reply towards Myra when he tugged his tail, baring his teeth at her made Myra gave a small jump back, reminding her not to trust Vrexen so easily.

Unfortunately for Myra, he did seem to have exactly the opposite idea than she had, immediately walking towards the guards the second she warned him about them, saying something about how Myra could easily kill them if she wanted. While she knew that she could probably kill them, what made her wary near them was the strange shadows the dark people seemed to be able to control and their numbers. While Myra was undeniably dangerous, she was just one while there were thousands of dark skinned people on the island. Due to all that, Myra knew that the best alternative in order to avoid trouble was to just stay clear of them. Immediately using her camouflage, sneaking and following Vrexen from a safe distance as he walked towards the guards, Myra stood relatively close to him, but always being careful enough to stay out of sight.

Unsurprisingly, the guards reacted in a very aggressive manner the moment they saw Vrexen, going as far as shooting something at his feet in order to warn him. With her nerves on the edge, she watched as Vrexen presented himself, saying he wanted to meet some kind of 'two headed dragon' inside the city. After hearing the reason why he wanted to enter the city, Myra couldn`t help but be confused. She knew how dangerous dragons were and knew better than to mess with an adult dragon, but Vrexen not only wanted to meet a dragon, but he wanted to meet a two headed dragon that for some reason seemed to live inside the city. If a normal dragon was already dangerous, Myra couldn't even imagine how dangerous a dragon with two heads would be. Still, she needed to go inside and as such, despite her instincts telling her that there was nothing but trouble inside the dark skinned people's city, she followed Vrexen as the guards escorted him inside, using her camouflage as she prowled through the shadows.

While Myra was still a bit cautious around Vrexen, his non-hostile behavior towards her and the fact that he spoke to her almost as if they were close did make her a little less wary. As he asked her to join him though, she did wait for a moment, considering her options. Even though Vrexen had a very intimidating appearance, judging from the way he was treating her so far, he wouldn't be a threat to her. Besides, since she would have to get nearby the dark skinned pointy-ears' city, a place which made her very, very uncomfortable, it would be nice to have someone else with her. Even if just to use as a distraction if things get too ugly.

Before she could even finish thinking though, Vrexen suddenly leapt forward, beginning to run on all fours towards north. Surprised by his sudden movement, Myra gave a jump back, but as soon as she realized he was already on his way, she decided to follow him as well. Quickly munching and eating the last piece of meat she had, she dashed after Vrexen, catching up to him after a moment. Their 'partnership' could either last for a moment or longer, it all depended on how successful they would be at entering the city and if they would be able to use one of the dark skinned people's weird transports to get out of the island.

The moment they got close enough to see the city far in the horizon, the first thing that drew Myra's attention wasn't the city's gates and walls in the distance, but the huge, shiny and pretty crystal hovering far in the sky behind the city. Myra looked to Vrexen and pointed towards the crystal with a curious expression, tilting her head. While she had seen it before a few times from far away, it was the first time she was getting closer to the city and realizing how big it really was. While she had no idea what it was and why it was there, maybe Vrexen knew more about it than she did.

As Myra and Vrexen got closer and closer to the city walls though, Myra began getting more and more uncomfortable and wary of her surroundings. Raising her speed a bit until she was besides Vrexen, Myra gave a quick glance at him, making it obvious she was uncomfortable being nearby the city and then using her camouflage. Due to the speed they were running, Vrexen who was besides her could still clearly see her as a clear light distortion. As soon as they began getting nearby the walls that Myra assumed that guarded the city, Myra would begin slowing down and moving more careful, which made her completely invisible even for Vrexen, although he could still feel her presence due to how close she was from him and the faint smell of meat she had just eaten.

Myra would soon realize as she got closer to the city that... there wasn't a city behind the big walls. Instead, it was just a cave. Sure, assuming how many dark skinned people were around, they probably lived inside the cave but it was strange, seeing how they could build flying and swimming machines but still lived in caves. That said, as they got closer to the walls, Vrexen would feel a short but sudden pull on his tail. Upon looking back, he would see Myra, partially undoing her camouflage, just enough to appear slightly transparent to Vrexen and shake her head with an alarmed expression as she pointed towards the group of soldiers patrolling just a bit further away.

Judging by how many dark elves there were around, Myra assumed that maybe the real city was inside the cave. If that was true, it would be even more guarded inside the cave than outside. While the darkness and the cave environment would surely be beneficial for Myra, which would provide her many spots for her to hide and sneak, she didn't know what the dark skinned people were capable of, if they could see in the dark or anything so she still preferred to be cautious instead of just walking inside with Vrexen, who couldn't hide like she did.

With Morgana finished with her investigation, mentioning something about the ones who casted the magic not having 'formal' knowledge of magic she called Faye, finally remembering her that she indeed had something to do other than chat with Michael about his ritual.

"Oh, right! I was supposed to do something regarding the portal, wasn't I?" she said, walking to where the very middle of the circle that Morgana was investigating was and closing her eyes as she focused on feeling the magic around her.

While the technicalities of the circle were completely unknown to her, Faye did experience something somewhat similar to what Morgana meant when she said that whoever made that circle didn't have formal knowledge in magic and probably not from this millennium. While normally human spells made magic move in an incredibly logical manner. While it was still confusing for Faye, it still had a set pattern to it. This spell was different. While it was still clearly man-made, with the magic oriented in a clearly artificial manner, it had no clear pattern... It was almost as if someone started writing a word in one language and then suddenly changed to another one in the middle of the word.

"Wow! Even though I know little of human magic, I now know that you weren't joking about what you said, Morgana... This is a mess!" Faye said.

It did take a bit but she had finally been able to make some sense of that huge mess and catch the trail of magic left by the ritual.

"Found it!" Faye said with a proud expression before she raised one of her arms and pointed west, much to everyone's bewilderment.

"What? Did you expect me to give you the geographical coordinates or something? That's a bit too much even for me!" she said, laughing.

"No, but seriously, I can give you a pretty good estimate of where it is though, maybe narrow it down to a city if I focus hard enough. Anyone has a map or something like that?" Faye asked, looking around.
