"Humanity takes great pride in three things. Their willpower, their greed and their mortality.

Their will and endless greed allows them to grow and accend past other creatures
But their mortality denies them divinity

It's a delightful purgatory between being Fallen and being Divine"

Myra carefully watched every movement the creature made from a safe distance as it moved towards the piece of meat she had put on the ground. It was a very tense moment, with both Myra and the unknown creature looking at each other, without even blinking. Grabbing the piece of meat and giging a first, cautious bite, he confirmed that it was safe to eat, taking a larger bite out of it just after. As his posture changed, with him sitting on the ground to enjoy the meat, Myra relaxed a bit more as well. While that didn't mean she fully trusted the creature, at least it didn't show itself to be hostile. That and he still had a very dangerous appearance...

While she didn't really know who was that 'mother' he kept talking about nor why he called her 'sister', she did understand as he introduced himself as Vrexen. In a much less wary stance, Myra spelled out her name in the air with her finger as she looked at Vrexen. When Vrexen asked about darkness, pointing towards where the city where the dark skin pointy eared people lived, Myra displayed visible discomfort for a moment, before looking back at him and nodding her head. While normally she already disliked them, after what happened in the previous night, she had a very bad feeling about what the dark skinned people were up to. That said, while Myra knew how dangerous the dark skinned people in the city were, she still had to do something. She knew that hiding in that forest and just waiting until something really bad happened, like her instincts were telling her that would, was a very bad idea.

If Vrexen was going to the city, Myra knew he would draw MUCH more attention than she would. Maybe if she used his presence as a distraction, she would be able to pass by unnoticed. Maybe even use some of the big floaty things the dark skinned people sometimes used to cross the water, or even, if she was lucky, the big things that they used to fly in the air.

Nuallán listened to Rosaria as she spoke about the dark haired man with a sigh. It was true that humans were a... young race. Prone to emotional outbursts and impulsive. Still even though Rosaria was inclined to try and help the dark haired man, he still didn't like how easily he threatened with his dagger. Such... volatile behavior could prove to be a threat to them later on... if not corrected or dealt with as soon as possible.

"You are too kind, Lady Rosaria... and that is exactly what worries me the most." Nuallán said, with a sigh and an understanding tone.

"Even if humans are prone to emotional outbursts, it is still not acceptable to threat someone, especially a princess with a weapon. Please understand that as long as I am by your side, it is my duty do anything to keep you safe." Nuallán said, looking at her with a serious expression.

"As long as he doesn't point a weapon at you again, I will give him another chance. Remember that we are at war. We do not need a threat inside our own forces or someone with such a... volatile and unpredictable behavior." He said, still worried about how kind Rosaria was to other people, but still respecting her desires.

"Still... If it's you, you might be able to do it. Even the coldest of the hearts would melt when met with your kindness." He said in a low tone with a smile and a chuckle, jokingly teasing her a little bit.

Approaching the dark haired human once again, Rosaria began talking to him, briefly explaining that they were not ready to face the enemy yet and asking for their cooperation before introducing herself to the group once more. As she finished, Nuallán gave a step forward to introduce himself.

"My name is Nuallán Varnion. I am 928 years old and I am Princess Rosaria's butler, bodyguard and personal attendant. The Varnion family made an old and long lasting oath to serve and protect the royal family, which we have been doing so for a very long time. While Princess Rosaria might be more suited to teach you about magic, If necessary, I can definitely be of help by instructing you on armed and unarmed combat and physical training if necessary." he said, beginning to introduce himself.

"Lastly, as long as you are her highness guests, you need but to ask if you have any questions or requests." Nuallán finished with an elegant bow.

As the group moved into town, Princess Rosaria soon stopped near a stall, leading the humans to it and saying they were free to browse it's wares and buy anything, as long as it wasn't overly expensive. Even though Rosaria kept a calm and relaxed demeanor near the humans, Nuallán could say how much on edge and alert she was, with her hand on her bow and incessantly scanning her surroundings with her eyes.

Gently touching the hand that was over her bow, Nuallán turned towards Rosaria with a kind smile and a discreet bow.

"Please Lady Rosaria, there is no need for you to worry yourself so much. Let me take care of escorting you, the humans and keeping you all safe." he said with a discreet smile, trying to make her relax a bit. He knew how taxing the war would be for Rosaria and the entire royal family and if he could help to lift some of that burden off them, he would gladly do so.

Myra's little investigation of the creature was going fine, so much that she was getting closer to the creature without realizing. That was, until it began looking around, making Myra jump away from it, back to the position she was in the first place. Unfortunately, it seemed like he had already caught the scent of the chunk of meat from the boar she was still carrying. Stopping to a halt, the creature continued looking around while calling for her. After waiting a bit without saying anything, simply looking at the creature as it stood there, with it's tail whipping around, she slowly walked forward, still in a safe distance as she undid her camouflage, slowly appearing.

Looking at the creature that was now a few meters in front of her, face to face, she tilted her head as she continued staring at it. She had never seen such creature in the forest before. Other than the ogres, the trolls and the other beasts, the only others that were in that island were the dark, pointy eared people. Sure, she had never approached their city, but she doubted that such a wild and hostile looking creature would be tolerated inside their city.

Seeing how he had probably caught her by the scent of the chunk of meat she was carrying and was still staring at her, Myra thought he was either hungry or wanted a piece of the meat she was carrying. Taking the meat off her mouth, Myra cut it in half with her claws before giving a few cautious steps forward, leaving the piece of meat in the middle of the way between her and the creature, before bolting away to the position she was a moment ago, continuing to look at it curiously.
Ada

@PaulHaynek@Restalaan@AzureKnight@Rezod92

Still using her camouflage, Ada watched confused as Nagare suddenly turned into a dragon. While the fight wasn't over yet, Ada didn't know if she was supposed to help or not. First Sir Reed told that he would stay with the group, then Ditzy said that he would take Sir Reed's place and now Nagare was saying she would be the one to fight. All that confusion left Ada completely confused. All she knew was that the fight was not yet over, seeing as how the Ogre accepted and the monster girls started to surround Nagare.

When Ada was about to search for a target to pounce, Sir Reed suddenly started talking, making her stop, going where he was and undoing her camouflage, looking to Ditzy and Sir Reed, confused as the latter spoke, saying that they could help Nagare, even though she wouldn't be happy with it.

While Ada didn't really understand why Nagare wouldn't be happy if they helped her, she knew that Nagare was surrounded and things could get dangerous for her, even if she was that big. Looking to Ditzy and Sir Reed, Nagare pointed towards Nagare with an anxious, worried expression as she waited to see what they would do next.

Freyr

The very moment Freyr heard George's reply, he knew he was up to something shady once more. Unfortunately, they parted their ways before Freyr had a chance to ask him anything more, as they were already getting close to the guild. Seeing how quickly George said his farewells and dropped him and Haley off, he definitely was doing something wrong again.

The very moment they were dropped off, Freyr sighed, shaking his head.

"I can't believe it... He's up to something again... Especially with how quickly he dropped us off after we began questioning him..." Freyr said to himself before he turned to Haley, who had just stopped, turning towards him and asking if he would tell her the truth about George.

"He's definitely up to something... I don't know what but I don't like it. He is a good man but he... somehow always makes the wrong choices. The few times I met him earlier he was also doing stuff like this. Like the time he was selling 'harmless recreational drugs'... He swore that they had no side effects nor were any dangerous but that didn't change the fact that they were illegal..." Freyr replied.

"I sincerely hope the authorities catch him. I don't want him to get into trouble but he needs to learn to stay on the right path..." he finished explaining Haley about the other times he met George, genuinely disappointed that he didn't learn his lesson.

Completely distracted from the previous matter she was discussing about, Faye silently watched the ritual Micheal was performing. Curiously, she listened to the drums and the chant as the magic around them swirled and pulsated to the tone. It was different than the calculated, straight circuits of Morgana's gloves, it was much more... primal and natural. Surprisingly enough, while not exactly the same, it was much closer to the way the Fae manipulated magic than it was from modern human magic. Where most people would see the beauty of the ritual, the music and the chant, Faye saw and felt a spectacle that few humans could watch. With the ritual over and Micheal sat down, Faye saw the effects of the ritual, making magic traces glowing and visible to anyone.

"It was wonderful!" Faye said, moving closer to Michael with a smile on her face.

"It's interesting, your ritual is closer to how the Fae manipulate the magic than most modern human spells are. It was truly a spectacle to watch." she said, praising him.

With that part done though, they still had to solve the issue of the small girl's ghost. Fortunately, Amanda soon arrived with Madeleine. When Madeleine mentioned a demonic ritual though, Faye got a bit restless. While she knew it would be nothing like the terrible magic that she felt from the leviathan but it was still very... uncomfortable for her.

As Madeleine started the chant, Faye couldn't help but give a feel a chill going down her spine as demonic runes slowly started to glow. It was a magic that was much more... forceful and brute in feeling than Micheal's ritual. Not only that but the very origin and essence of demonic magic was contrary to her own. Sure, it was not such an aberration as the magic coming from the Leviathan but it was still very uncomfortable and disconcerting for Faye. When the demonic ritual was finally done and the door to the underworld, as explained by Madeleine herself, formed, she extended her hand towards the small girl's ghost, offering to take her to see her parents one last time.

"That was very uncomfortable..." Faye said, putting her arms around herself as she felt a shiver run down her spine, looking at the door Madeleine had summoned before quickly looking away.

With the warning delivered, Nuallán swiftly went back to his position nearby the two princesses, still keeping a vigilant eye on the few humans that were causing trouble. Fortunately, Caelan and the black haired human seemed to be the only ones acting in such a way, with the other humans even expressing their appreciation to the words Nuallán said, such as Ismael, who had thanked him and the quiet girl, who seemed to like his words so much to even applaud him. While he knew that both humans would probably be rather troublesome to deal with, he still was glad to know that at least two of them appreciated his efforts to keep things civilized and in order and the other humans seemed to understand the warning he gave. Giving a discreet nod towards Ismael, thanking him for his appreciation and jokingly giving a small, theatrical bow to quiet girl with a smile, Nuallán continued looking at both Caelan and the dark haired human. Not only the two of them had openly displayed hostile actions against the two princesses, the dark haired human was still armed and weaving his dagger around.

As the rest of the humans helped themselves to the clothes that were provided, with the females entering the curtains that were asked by Princess Annya per their request and brought by a maid and after a few words from Princess Annya to Caelan, who was perhaps the better one among the troublemakers, Nuallán gave a discreet nod, greeting Kharne as he spoke to Princess Annya.

When Nuallán thought things would calm down though, the dark haired human decided to continue with his little show, despite the situation he encountered himself into and the delicate warning that Nuallán himself gave. While the words he say would leave any other person lose their composure, Nuallán simply looked back at him, unfazed by the human's provocations as he continued to shout and insult those around him. While he didn't really care of what the human said to him, his arrogance, his hostile, uncivilized behavior and the complete lack of respect towards the princess were things that he wouldn't tolerate. While he walked around, it was clear by the way Nuallán was moving that the human had crossed a line he shouldn't have.

The very moment the dark haired human finished, before Nuallán could say anything, Princess Annya, who also seemed to be tired of the dark haired man's insolence began speaking. With a furious tone, she approached him, chastising him for his actions and speaking her mind regarding how he was acting. While Nuallán agreed with every word she said, knew how enraged she was and he knew exactly how skilled she was in combat, he still maintained close distance to him, worried he might try doing anything. As she finished, finally calming herself down, Princess Rosaria began speaking too, being way kinder and way more understanding than the human deserved, despite everything he did. When she was about to finish, a soldier interrupted her, whispering that the dark elves had begun to move and that they needed to leave now. Gently tapping on the dark haired male's hand, Princess Rosaria called him, Caelan and the quiet girl to follow them as she turned away.

"Certainly, Lady Rosaria." He said, with a respectful bow before turning towards Annya.

"Please, be careful as well, Princess Annya." he said with a bow.

The very moment Rosaria turned away, Nuallán moved closer to the dark haired male, swiftly and almost in an imperceptible manner, he moved in a way so the human would know that he couldn't escape him as he began talking to him in a low tone, only for him to listen.

"It seems you are under the impression that you occupy some kind of grand and important position, Human... Let me clarify, you were never in a position to order me around in the first place." Nuallán replied. If the change in his tone and even the way how he wasn't treating the human as a guest anymore weren't a clear enough indication that the human was now walking on thin ice, the fact that Nuallán was clearly moving himself in a way the dark haired man was always within his reach made it even clearer that the human could in fact die if he did any wrong movement.

"Do not mistake me for a common servant and do not mistake servants for slaves. The only ones in the entire kingdom who can give me orders are the Royal family, whom my own family serves and protects with pride since times immemorial." Nuallán continued, getting closer to the dark haired man, his eyes fixed on him almost in the same way a predator has it's eyes on it's prey.

"You were a guest, until the moment you rejected and stepped on the royal princesses' hospitality and goodwill, instead pointing your dagger at them. Now you are an inconvenience. A threat? No... Both of the princess do not need me to deal with someone like you. Still, I would gladly do so if that means they will not get their own hands dirty." Nuallán continued.

"This will be my last warning, human. Do not test my patience or mistake my politeness for passiveness. The next time you show any type of hostile behavior, no matter how small it may be, not even Princess' Rosaria's kindness will save you. I will be watching every breath you take from now on." Nuallán finished, moving away to the spot he was a moment ago before Princess Rosaria finished grabbing the bags that Annya had prepared for the humans.

Getting ready to leave, Nuallán moved towards Princess Rosaria's side as she left the castle, being greeted with a breathtaking view, almost as a sad reminder that they wouldn't be able to enjoy such view in tranquility for a long time. Smiling back kindly towards Rosaria, Nuallán couldn't help but be worried for her. While he knew princess Annya had a personality and a temper that were much more adequate to times of war, Princess Rosaria was different. He knew how determined and intelligent she was and how she was ready to do whatever it took for the kingdom and the people, but Rosaria was also overwhelmingly kind... And he knew that more often than not, such kindness had no place in times of war.

"The quiet human girl, she somehow remembers me of you when you were younger, my lady. I think you might enjoy her company." Nuallán said, standing besides her with a smile on his face.

"That said, I urge you to be careful around the dark haired human, Lady Rosaria. You do not need to suffer his insolence and rudeness. He does not deserve your kindness." he said looking to her with a worried expression.

Getting closer to the border of the forest, with the trees and the foliage not as dense as they were, Myra moved cautiously, not wanting to be discovered by any dark elf as she investigated her surroundings. The bad feeling that started when she saw the dark elves speaking in the sky was still with her until now, almost as if urging her to be careful. After a bit of walking though, Myra suddenly heard a noise coming a dozen meters ahead in the forest, together with an unfamiliar scent.

Using her camouflage, Myra sneaked closer to the strange scent, until she was met with a strange creature that was talking to itself. With sharp claws, gray skin and horns, the creature had a rather dangerous look, which contributed even more for Myra to not approach it outright, instead simply watching it from a safe distance while using her camouflage to hide herself. While the creature seemed to be a bit confused... or maybe thinking at first, it suddenly leaped forwards beginning to run on all fours towards north. Surprised with the sudden movement, Myra began running after it, still curious about what that creature was. While it wasn't exactly silent as it ran, instead being almost the exact opposite, it was undeniably fast. With her camouflage making her only somewhat transparent, due to the speed she was running, she continued going after the creature, sometimes running behind it, sometimes besides it, in a safe distance away as she curiously watched how it ran and how it moved in an agile, dexterous manner despite it's size and muscular build.

Nuallán continued silently observing the humans as they reacted with each other. One of the other female humans, a purple haired girl, seemed to be too distracted drawing to even realize what was happening, much to Nuallán's surprise. Curiously, she just continued to draw almost as if nothing had happened, only realizing that something was different with her surroundings after some time, reacting in a surprisingly soft, calm and delicate manner despite her confusion. While there she was certainly no warrior, Nuallán appreciated how composed she was and how she reacted instead of screaming or being loud like some other humans.

It was on this moment that Lady Rosaria called his name, after greeting Ismael, asking him to get the clothes Princess Annya had prepared for the humans on a small rolling cart just outside of the room. Additionally, she also asked him to bring back a pair of shoes for the purple haired girl who was too distracted to notice what was happening until now. As Rosaria approached her, Nuallán couldn't help but think that she would probably enjoy that particular human's company. It would be probably for the best if the purple haired girl went together with Rosaria too, as Nuallán knew that Princess Annya would probably have neither the patience nor the desire to deal with that girl, let alone guide and teach her.

"Certainly, my Lady." Nuallán replied, giving a few steps forward, presenting himself with an elegant bow to both Rosaria and Annya, who smiled at him when Rosaria called, before swiftly getting out of the room to fetch for what was asked.

It only took a few seconds until Nuallán was back inside, bringing a small rolling cart, which a number of different clothes of different styles for the humans to wear on the upper tray and on the bottom one, a few pairs of shoes in case they needed. The moment he entered the room though, he was met with quite a chaotic scene. One of the humans, a black haired, dark skinned one, had pulled out a knife and was shouting and cursing as he continued to randomly point his dagger at the people around him, including the other humans. Other than that, Caelan, who had introduced himself before also started making a scene of his own, disappointing Nuallán who had silently commended the boy for his spirit. When Princess Annya said that he shouldn't smoke inside, putting out it's flame, the boy didn't seem to like it very much, mentioning a few strange words before stomping his feet into the ground, making it crack under his heels.

"The clothes you asked for, my Lady." Nuallán said, announcing his arrival to Rosaria as he entered the room with the rolling cart.

Despite Nuallán's composed behavior and elegant step, it was clear that he was extremely unsatisfied and irritated with the behavior the humans were showing. As he calmly brought the rolling cart, the cold, menacing feeling coming out from him as he stopped and silently looked at both humans for a second was enough to send a shiver one's spine.

"Esteemed guests, may I have your attention for a moment?" Nuallán said in clear and audible tone, his piercing, cold stare sending a clear warning, completely contradicting the polite tone he was using and his graceful posture.

"We are grateful for your presence, your assistance and we apologize for abruptly summoning you, but I must ask for you to keep your decorum, act in a civilized manner and please refrain from unsheathing your weapons when in the presence of the King, the Queen or the Royal Princesses." He continued, clearly talking with the dark skinned human that was shouting when he mentioned the last part.

"While your confusion is justified due to the extraordinary circumstances behind your summoning and arrival here in Avalia, I must warn you that such hostile behavior will not be tolerated any further." he continued, making sure the humans, especially Caelan and the dark haired human were paying attention to him.

"With that said, I assure you that any and all questions you might have will be answered in due time and you will be treated with utmost respect, honor and hospitality while under our care. For now, I ask you to direct your attention to Princess Rosaria and Princess Annya's instructions." Nuallán finished with a bow as he pushed the rolling cart a bit further, putting it in a place where the humans could easily access

With that done, Nuallán gave a few steps back, facing Princess Annya and princess Rosaria once again, bowing and stepping back, staying just a few steps away from Rosaria and Annya, in case the human with a knife tried to attack them.

The broadcast in the sky was a rude awakening for the entire forest, including Myra, who was sleeping under one of the coniferous trees of the cold taiga forests from Daka Island. The loud voice and the image of two dark elves in the sky made Myra jump, alert, hissing and camouflaging herself as she analyzed her surroundings, only realizing that they were speaking from the sky and weren't in fact close to her. While she didn't know what they were talking about nor how exactly they did that, Myra somehow had a very bad feeling. She never expected anything good coming from a Dark Elf, but the fact that they had killed the few Light Elves that were with them in the broadcast made it even more obvious that it was something bad. The dark elves continued talking for a few moments until everything went dark again, only the noises of the many creatures in the forest remaining. The big creatures that roamed through the cold taiga like unchallenged titans, ones that even Myra avoided, making their discontent clear with loud roars, while the smaller creatures fled and hid. Using her camouflage, Myra ran to one of the hideouts she had found some time ago while hunting. A small opening under an uprooted tree, that led to a small underground cave. While damp and cold, it was still a safe place as most of the small creatures that could enter were seen by Myra as prey and the big ones were highly unlikely to even realize that there was something under the uprooted tree. Curled up in a ball, with her long tail around her in order to preserve body heat, Myra quietly waited for the sleep to come. The terrible sensation that something very bad was about to happen still in her mind as she slowly fell asleep.

While the forest was undoubtedly calmer on the next morning, there were clear signs that it wasn't a calm night. Trees broken in half or sometimes completely uprooted dotted the forest as Myra began getting ready to seek for food after getting out of her small hideout. It didn't take long until Myra felt the scent of blood in the air. Using her camouflage, Myra began stalking the wounded creature, following the clear trail left by the strong scent of blood. After a brief while, Myra finally found her target, a wounded boar, laying near a tree, an easy and vulnerable target for a predator such as Myra. The big holes on it's side and chest a clear indication that it had lost against another boar in a fight. Myra positioned herself as she sneaked closer to the wounded boar before pouncing on it with terrifying speed, moving like a distorted blur due her speed as her camouflage deactivated. Her teeth and claws were sinking into the back of the boar's neck before it could even realize what it was happening, only jerking it's body in a futile attempt to struggle before convulsing a few times with a weak, squeal as it finally died.

"Bleh!" Myra opened her mouth, sticking her tongue out. Both her tongue and teeth where filled with fur that came out from the boar after she bit it. Spitting out the fur that got into her mouth, she used her claws to tear apart the boar's hide, ripping it's side open to reveal the flesh inside.

Myra knew she had to be quick. The smell of blood would quickly attract other creatures. While she could easily defend the carcass against goblins and other small creatures, it would get considerably harder and more dangerous if a troll appeared. As such, she immediately started eating, taking a big bite out of the boar's side. Between eating and turning around to hiss at the few goblins and other creatures that slowly started to arrive, it took only a few moments until more than half of it was already eaten. Having satisfied her hunger, Myra took another big chunk of meat, holding it into her mouth before running away, leaving the rest of the carcass for the other creatures to eat. She was lucky that the smell didn't attract any bigger creature while she was eating.

Satisfied and with some meat with her in case she got hungry afterwards, Myra began moving closer to the border of the forest to investigate. The dark elves were much more active since she saw the sky image from the last night. Depending on what was going on, maybe she should start looking for ways to leave the island...

The events of the last night had turned the entire Sun Elf Kingdom upside down. The Dark Elves' declaration of war was definitive. Blood was already spilled and here was no possibility for negotiation. The war was already certain. With a bloody war looming over the horizon, threatening to engulf the entire Avalia, there was not a single soul among the royals or the nobles with a happy expression on the ceremony that they were about to perform. Nuallán knew that the tensions between Dark Elves and Light Elves wasn't something new. The unhealed wounds of what happened thousands of years ago festered and refused to heal no matter how much time passed. With the silence from both kingdoms and no attempt made in thousands of years to try and mend the political relations between both races, the entire situation was truly a powder barrel, waiting to explode... And now, it had finally happened. The declaration of war from the Dark Elves made it clear that the upcoming war was the worse type of war. It was a war born out of spite and hatred.

Standing a few meters away from Rosaria in one side of the room, Nuallán could clearly see how nervous his Mistress was by how she glanced around, how her hands were shaking and other small hints on her body language. Unfortunately, even if she was searching for him with her eyes, he couldn't help her. He knew how shaken the royalty was after the declaration of war and most importantly, he knew how much of the responsibility to deal with it rested in the royal blood. As someone who had the royal blood of the Biren running through her veins and most importantly, as a princess, it was her duty to be strong for her people and to protect them and their land. That didn't prevent him from being worried about her though. Being the next in line for being the queen already put a huge weight over her shoulders and now with the war, she would need every support he could give her.

Rosaria wasn't the one that was struggling to control her emotions though. From the moment Princess Annya had barged inside the hall, speaking about taking the humans under her to the River Kingdom as she looked on the map, putting it in front of the window. Her steps, the tone of her voice and her entire being radiated the anger and wrath she was feeling and how hard she was trying to keep it under control. Nuallán knew how much she was affected after losing General Talindra on the declaration of war that happened last night. Everyone in the castle knew how close the general and Princess Annya were. After closing the curtains in a particularly aggressive manner, she took her spot besides Rosaria, moving with large, impatient strides. Nuallán closed his eyes, sighing as the king and the queen spoke, formally announcing the start of the ceremony where the rift would be opened. Preparing herself for the task ahead, Rosaria gently held Princess Annya's hand, smiling gently to her, trying not to show how nervous she was and ease her sister's nervousness. Nuallán watched with a discreet smile as Princess Annya's expression visibly became calmer and lighter speaking with a much calmer tone, comforting Rosaria before they began opening the rifts. Things would be very tough from now on. Not only for the Sun Elf Kingdom, but for the entire Avalia. He could only hope that the bonds that tied Annya and Rosaria would continue to be stronger than the raging fires of war. Even though both sisters had incredibly different personalities, as long as the two sisters remained together, supporting each other, Nuallán was sure that no matter how hard, terrible and long the war became, they would continue firm and resolute, protecting the kingdom and the lives of their people.

Opening a rift was an incredibly difficult task, something that wasn't been accomplished in thousands of years. Even though Rosaria was considered to be a rare genius regarding magic, it would still prove to be a difficult task even with the aid of Princess Annya and other powerful mages. A deafening silence flooded the hall as the mages started. Seconds seemed to last minutes as every noble in the room held their breaths. The very second the few first rifts began to open with blinding light coming from them, the entire room erupted in cheers, commemorating the success of the ceremony. Even Nuallán was relieved, knowing that his Lady was successful in opening the rifts, despite maintaining an impeccable posture and composure through the entire ceremony. After a few seconds, six humans flew from the portal, falling into the middle of the room before the rifts were finally closed. With the ceremony complete and after the cheers died down, Rosaria and Annya introduced themselves to the humans who had just arrived. The humans didn't seem to be much at first sight for Nuallán, but he knew that with guidance and training, they had the potential to change the tides of war in their favor. Dealing with each one of them would be another completely different matter though. They were not disciplined soldiers, but normal humans. Their approach would have to be very delicate and different for each different human, according to their own personalities, ideals and particularities.

The first one to speak was the black haired human with a scar on his face. Nuallán could tell with a single glance that he was a warrior. If the way he moved when falling through the rift and the scars weren't already a dead giveaway, the way he moved, spoke and how composed he was made it even clearer. The human introduced himself as Ismael Helstein. Having memorized the name, it would be someone Nuallán would definitely keep an eye on, as he was undoubtedly a promising subject to aid them in the war. The second male human who arrived, a blonde haired man had much less of a gracious entrance, falling with a loud scream and a curse. Despite his unpleasant entrance though, he eagerly listened to Lady Rosaria and Lady Annya's words, in silent admiration before introducing himself as Caelan Knight. He seemed to be completely clueless regarding combat, but his spirit and eagerness were definitely admirable and something the kingdom would need for the tough times that were about to come. The two other female humans, were doing quite a commotion didn't seem to have the same composure as Ismael though. While the bruises and the things that they were talking about did pass the idea that they weren't exactly unfamiliar to dangerous situations, they didn't seem to be the type who would actively take action in combat. While their confusion was somewhat warranted due to the situation they found themselves in, Nuallán was still a bit annoyed by how loud and rather discourteous they were on their arrival.
Freyr

Thanks to that fortunate encounter with George, both Freyr and Haley were able to ride back to the guild on George's carriage. Freyr was happy to notice that Haley seemed to really appreciate the ride, seeing how exhausted she was. As she took the opportunity to relax, Freyr sat down besides her as they began their trip back to the guild.

After some time, the moment the carriage hit a bump on the road, the chest that was in the back, the only thing George seemed to be carrying on his carriage other than themselves, opened, revealing an alarming amount of gold. The sheer amount and the way they were shining under the moonlight already made it hard to ignore, but the fact that it was George who was transporting said money only made it even more suspicious.

Freyr immediately sighed heavily, putting a hand on his face as he shook his head while Haley started to interrogate George about where the gold came from.

"What have you done this time, George?" Freyr finally asked after George asked him for help.

"Please tell me that you're just transporting gold for the bank or something..." Freyr said, sighing, fearing for the answer he would receive.
