Special...? Berit couldn't quite understand what the cleric meant by the word, about the same amount that she couldn't understand why she'd want anything else but meat. The sheer idea simply made no sense for her!

"My, my, Hershel...! You have known me for years and still hasn't picked up that I have no preferences~?", the Nekomata had teased with a tone as soft as a purr. Human meat came first, then everything else stood in a similar ground, except for raw poultry. That one was considered an act of despair at the sheer lack of taste or overall enjoyment. Much better cooked, that was for sure!

To much dismay, their nice little time away from all of the idiots had been short-lived. Her partner had barely been able to procure the items for his own sandwich, and soon the duo of babbler-mouth and rodent was coming near to them. Dris got a new glare, but Spamton?? Oh! Her ears lowered themselves with a display of pure cringe, the 'businessman's boasting tone being like nails on a chalkboard to the once glamorous cat. It was unbearable, Rena had been a hair-thin about to shout back at that thing to shut its trap-!

Only for Hershel to engage in conversation with the puppet, slices of meat put on her plate as a discreet peace offering.

...fine. It was not that Berit couldn't respect the chatterbox, she could. The fact that he would not accept the cleric's handouts so promptly and rather right for something he believe in was... at the very least, commendable. Stupid, since his goals were so small and insignificant on her eyes, but admirable, in a way. If only he could learn to develop an inside voice and awareness of the environment. And a brain, just all around a functional brain.

Though displeased and constantly giving off annoying flicks of her tail to make it apparent, the Nekomata began to nibble at her meal, still hearing their conversation but too entranced with her own needs to say anything about it. She mentally thanked whoever had made a collision with the creature, her ears shooting back up in amusement.

"Why, he simply got what he deserved, my dear~", but he'd most likely be alright. What was that saying again? Ah, 'a creaking door hangs the longest'!

Well. It appeared that Ultron was both physically capable and mentally unstable. Once he had the chance, Otto was going to pencil in the artificial man’s ‘decommissioning’. However, a stern talking to would have to suffice this time so that no fatalities are caused within the first few hours of contact with unknown quantities.

“Ultron, if you do that again I can, and will, leave you webbed up on the floor struggling to get out. This is a time for forging alliances and making friends, not throwing people across the room like a madman. After all, you are a ‘peacekeeping force’, correct? Keep the peace by not antagonizing others.”

Perhaps he would finally have to use that ‘spidey sense’ that Peter so often referred to. Hopefully, that would not come from Ultron attempting to swing.

"Assumptions, assumptions. What, am I meant to kill him? Would you like that? And clearly, 'Negan,' you do not know who you are talking to."

Sephiroth mentioned him by name. How exactly he learnt of this name.. it wasn't exactly important. After all, Sephiroth did semi prove that he was listening the moment his name was said, the same going for Lucifer noticing the feathers, and Kira thinking of ways or things that could eliminate him? He hadn't heard of a 'Killer Queen.' Either way, that was enough mind reading for now. Sephiroth knew far too well that nobody here could match up to him, maybe if Cloud has bothered to get stronger, he could, but that was just pipe dreaming for now.

"I am not stuck you with all of you. No. You are all stuck here with Me."

Sephiroth reeked of overconfidence, though, he had the skills to back up this confidence. Being the greatest Hero of all time.. and being the One-Winged Angel of Destruction? Nothing could match up to him. Especially on their own. Filled with Malice and Darkness, Sephiroth took a step back, no longer holding the sword to Negans neck. Instead, simply grinning.

"To put it shortly, you may see it as kidnapping, I do not. This is but an invitation.."

[color=f7941d]"Jak! Why do we have to do this mission again? I swear we did this the last 5 times and still haven't been paid our dues!"/color] Daxter practically yelled over the swirl of sandstorms. Jak heard this the last 5 hours and couldn't help but grin at Daxter who tried his best to make a innocent look. The eco warrior sighed and said "Dax, you heard me the last 4 times I said this. We need this job. There's not much out there to occupy our time and things are getting a little..stale..

Daxter sighed, crossing his arms "Fine, Fine. Money is tight I get it, Jak. But can't we get something... Wait, Jak... did you feel that?"
Jak stopped the car and said "Felt what?" Daxter muttered "That pain..."
The eco warrior frowned and said "No, wh- Shit I feel it. What do you think it is?"

Daxter felt his arm fast droop "JAKKKK! Hey... buddy.... BUDDY!" Jak felt that same sensation as both were out.

///////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

The first thing the small ottsel did when he woke up was blink and grasp his weapon, trying not to literally scream at all the new "faces" within the cage like structure everyone was in.

Jak sat up, feeling his head "Dax, you alright?"
Daxter looked at Jak "Alright? ALRIGHT! We've been-"
Jak muttered and looked around "Kidnapped, right..."

The cage didn't break yet seeing all the fights break out but nothing else caught Jak and Daxter's eye, except for the group inside.

Director Thomas Sinclair
/////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

Sinclair crossed his arms, staring at the man called Stanford, who held his butcher knife. He lightly raised a eyebrow, looking over "So you are a butcher and "mercenary". I see. He was still distracted between two different figures between the creature that stood with hair all on his body and goggles (Grey) and Stanford and the two odd solider types dancing like nothing was wrong, one named Doomguy and the other man having a buzzcut.

"Excuse me for a second, you two. I believe I have a "danceoff" to watch.

Sinclair moved toward Doomguy and the other man. (Duke Nukem). "You said you're Doomguy? Strange choice in name. But who am I to judge?

"Looks like you know your way around a gun. I'll handle the sneaky aspects. Name's "Piercer". Or just call me Sinclair."

Mid-Prologue Update

"The Top Floor"

Continued from here.

A few hours had passed since the group had awoken inside of the cage. Many interactions had transpired since then - and miraculously, no one had died. Not even the most volatile of the group, such as Negan. The interactions and small talk had continued during this time, of course. After all... what else was there to do when kidnapped in a place like this?

Well, eventually, the woman from before had returned. Only this time, she was on ground level, and sporting a different outfit than before.

Her disappointed looking scowl stared right into the cage. It focused on no individual solely - rather, it seemed to wash over the group as a whole. Like a very uncomfortable blanket. In her hand, she seemed to be holding a remote of sorts. It only had a single button on it.

"Mister Luthor will see you now."

And then, the button was pressed, and the door slid open.

"About fuckin' time!" Negan exclaimed, being the first one to exit the cage. His bat was firmly grasped in his hand, as always. And of course, she was located right there on his shoulder. Because where else would she be? "I was beginnin' to think you up and... forgot about us." the man smirked as he passed the harsh-looking woman. She didn't respond, although she did sneer slightly at the remark.

Joel stood there and watched for a moment, taking a moment to process everything. He'd taken All Might's words into consideration - perhaps a bit too much. He hadn't had time to respond before this happened, but he very clearly didn't not believe him. As the woman led the way, Joel nodded to both Tess and All Might, before glancing down toward Sarah.

"C'mon. Let's go." Joel said as he began to walk out, his daughter's hand in his all the while.

The rest of the group was promptly escorted into a rather spacious elevator. Despite the size of the group, everyone managed to fit rather easily. The woman said nothing on the way up... making this whole thing a bit awkward. But, still, at least you were out, right?

It took a few moments, but eventually you reached the top floor, as the elevator slid open with a DING!

The office was pretty fancy - and filled to the brim with trinkets and expensive furniture alike. A bright and clear sunny sky could be seen from the large window in front of you, a stark contrast to the grimy underground facility that you'd just been in. Said sun happened to be shining into the room itself, right down towards a bald man, who sat at a large desk across from where you all stood.

"Greetings," the man spoke. His voice was almost sickeningly smooth and calm. His posture was relaxed as he leaned against his desk, fingers interlocked and elbows resting out in front of him. "I am Lex Luthor. Please, make yourselves comfortable. We have a lot to go over."

Sonic uncurled and uncontrollably skidded to a halt after bowling right into Spamton, barely managing to keep his footing. A shocked expression appeared on the hedgehog’s face as he realized he’d accidentally bumped into someone. It wasn’t often that a spin dash backfired on him like that. Whatever this glass was made of, it was tough.

”Whoa, are you alright?” He asked, dashing towards the dazed Spamton. ”I’m real sorry, little dude. I didn’t mean to hurt ya!” Sonic held out a hand to the Darkner to help him back on two legs. “Is this your friend?” Sonic asked Dris, having noticed the shocked look on his face. He hoped this wouldn’t turn to violence, though he could hardly blame them if it did. Maybe he should’ve been a bit more cautious when going about breaking through the glass…

Even when the door had opened, Sonic continued to stand there, holding a gloved hand out with a smile on his face. Whoever this “Luthor” person was, they could wait a few moments longer.

Jeffrey Woods

Jeff tried different methods of unjamming the blade in his head, such as wiggling it around as he pulled it. He later got interrupted by some armored dude. Jeff halted himself, looking at his getup from head to toe before a whistle escaped his lips. Damn, this guy looks ready to go against anything. I wondered what his deal is, since nobody wants to confront a mangled psychopath covered in dry blood.

Jeff looked confused at the two words he tossed around, not knowing what the hell they even mean.

To his surprise, he offered aid with a. . . Bacta Patch? And What the hell is a Kal? This motherfucker must be speaking in Australian slang or something. Oh well, The Killer humbly accepted his donations of kindness and bandages. Once he managed to pull out the knife. He immediately patched it so he wont paint the cage crimson red. That's his main concern right now, hemorrhages are not an issue.

"Oh, thank you!" Jeff said, striking the Mandalorian with a light jab. "At least one of you people have the kindness to help out a poor 15 year old boy here!"

. . .

"Or am I 14. Whatever, I'll kill you last!"

Ultron

The AI watched to see where Negan had landed, eyes still steely as he watched another human aid him. He didn't bather listening to their conversation but he maintained eye contact with both if they looked at him. It also appeared as the white haired man could teleport, though he took note of the strange feathers he left behind.
Overall he just looked at both things with a stoic expression. If the older man died it seemed like it would be his own fault, all bark no bite. His attention would be drawn back to his new 'companion', though his neutrality quickly turned to disdain. "What? Is that a threat?" The AI leered over him when his 'occupation' was put into questioning before he gestured to Negan "I am a peacekeeping force, I could have done a lot more than throw him and that's all I did. Now you're suddenly breathing down my neck!" The robot seemed ready to rumble only for the woman to enter the room. In an instant the hostility drained from him and he stood straight, his focus on her. "Finally." He followed with caution and curiosity.
He'd made sure to situate himself in a corner of the elevator so as not to be touched in the awkward ride up. The same went for finally reaching Luthor himself, the moment he saw the room he knew the type he was dealing with. Or so he thought at least.
When the man finally addressed the group the machine said nothing, but his eyes were practically burning holes into Luthor with his stare. As much as he wanted to do so literally, he calculated the risk and how illogical it would be to attack him not only in foreign land, but surrounded by strangers he'd yet to get a bead on.

--Sougo Tokiwa || Penny Polendina--
Interaction: @Thatguyinastore@YamperZZZ@cadesmith[@NotJeff]@GaaraoftheSand

As much as Sougo wouldn't want to admit, the Delinquent, while in direct bladepoint from the bichromal man he spoke to first, raised a good point. If Luthor didn't want them all dying, then why would he even bring them here in the first place?

Before Sougo could truly give his thoughts, a woman clad in what seems to be a one piece dress coat complete with a military cap one would see in nazi cosplays appeared in front of the cage yet again. Her gaze...Was terrifying, but felt rather homey to the bizarre King of Time. It reminded him of Tsukuyomi, who used to glare at him that way when they first met.

Honestly, this whole situation felt a tad nostalgic with Sougo's memories intact.

In anycase, the woman held a remote, pressing a button which opened a door in front of the cage--their freedom, with the reminder that Luthor is about to meet them. Seems rather formal. Sougo can't help but feel as if he's about to meet the Principal--despite not doing anything except maybe failing algebra a couple of times. He walked along with Fret, whom he trusts as his friend for now.

"It seems it's time, sir." Penny spoke to Gaara, whom she briefly conversed. She gave a courteous bow, "I'm afraid I must proceed. Farewell." She said, rather awkwardly. Usually Ruby...No, Ruby would've fumbled that conversation as well. Penny was just more awkward. A lot has been going through the android's mind. From the fact that she's now the Winter Maiden, to Salem's sudden appearance, to...Well, her being ousted from the Atlas Military due to becoming the Maiden instead of Winter Schnee. She's still processing all of this, it seems.

As she walked towards the opened elevator, Penny bumped into a brown haired man clad in a simple shirt and brown slacks--topped with a pink cardigan coat. Sougo Tokiwa, who was walking along with his newfound allies.

"Oh, sorry!" Penny apologized as Sougo winced, rubbing his shoulder. Somehow, he felt as if something incredibly hard had bumped into him--like a bat of some kind. "I wasn't looking where I was going."

"It's fine." Sougo nodded, chuckling a bit. "This day has been weird for all of us." He said, as Penny walked alongside Sougo and his friend.

There was very little time to converse though, as they reached the top floor in mere moments, granting them entry to what seems to be a fancy looking office. Sitting on the desk across the elevator entrance was a bald man with a stern glare, yet his voice was oddly...Calm. He's like a business man, judging by the suit and tie he sported, as well as his nigh stone faced demeanor, fingers interlocking.

This man introduced himself as Lex Luthor--the man who brought them here.

Sougo cautiously stepped forth, eyes glancing all over this fancy room. The air is heavy here. It could be cut open with a knife--probably due to the prior scuffle between most of them, but rather...It's Luthor. For a businessman, he seems to know how Multiverses works--and managed to drag them onto this one. Not to mention, he'd captured some improbable individuals--almost as if he's forming an army of some kind. It didn't take long for Sougo to piece together that Luthor holds a vast networth and, true to corruption in its core, holds great power over...Wherever this is.

Sougo slowly sat on the couch nearby, seeing as this is one of those situations where the people he's meeting are supposed to sit on the couch...Although there's way too many people for this couch.

Yoshikage Kira

Contrary to most of his fellow captives, Yoshikage Kira's focus was trained squarely on the woman who had invited them - or coaxed them, rather - from their cage, like mangy dogs being beckoned with a hunk of meat. As he laid eyes on her, he found his breathing catching in his throat, and he began to squeeze his hands into tight fists as if fearful of what would happen if he did not. He felt his nails, marching ever onward, growing and growing, limitless potential with nowhere for it to go. As she opened the cell door, where most would be met with relief, Kira was met with naught but tension, every fibre of his being craving naught more than to wind his hands around her divine throat, skin white as the driven snow and glistening as if laced with diamonds, and wring the life from her body with his own two hands. The first time he had taken a life was when he was just a boy, and yet, the high had never dwindled, the needle never dulled, the thrill never stopped. Only... grew...

But now was not the time to succumb to such base urges. Yoshikage Kira's art was one of discipline first and foremost, and discipline, he would have. He made to control his erratic breathing, calming his heart rate in turn and stowing his hands in his jacket pockets, vowing to keep them there until she was out of sight. A muse so great, to slip from his grasp... no greater tragedy was there, in this. No greater tragedy than the folly of Kira, a jester's mask forced onto his face that his heart would be hidden, locked away for none to see.

But they would see, sooner or later. If he was able, he would make a point of visiting her personally. Yoshikage Kira never forgot a pretty face, so was the duty of a gentleman.

Dead silent, Kira swept his eyes over the room, utterly disinterested and eyes hanging half-shut. In stark contrast to most, he appeared utterly unimpressed by his captor - so much so that, while others may have chastised Luthor or made grandiose gestures, Kira simply made his way to a luxurious seat and sat down, lifting a bottle from the table and pouring himself a drink. Wordlessly, he took a sip, leaned back in his seat, crossed a leg over the other and watched on, the sun shining through the liquid and staining his skin a warm amber.

"Much to go over, hmm?" Kira enunciated to no one in particular, swirling his drink in its glass. "We'd best get to it, then. No use in delaying, wouldn't you agree?"

Lilith and Shantae

Finally, at long last the sea of people were allowed out of the room and Shantae let out a sigh of relief. "Phew, finally." She was ready for any answers that she was going to be given when she asks this Luthor guy behind this, meanwhile Lilith didn't say anything and was just glad she wasn't going to be in this room any longer. Honestly, if you had to stay in a room with multiple people from other universes for an extended period of time you would probably want to leave at some point to, ether that or it was just her socially awkward side telling her that stuff. Must've been an introvert's hell in there.

But now back on topic. The two along with everyone else followed the woman from earlier, who was now in a different outfit, over to a nearby elevator, horary more cramped space! And even though there were a large amount of people to communicate with somehow no one was letting a word out, Lilith almost did so but she decided to not bother and keep quite like the rest. She was going to comment on how enclosed the elevator felt but she realized that statement was kind of arbitrary, plus she's a ghost, why would she care about crowded spaces anyway?

Reaching the top floor, everyone waltzed in and took in the scenery, Lilith especially as she wanted to find a way to take her mind of everything happening. However Shantae was still determined to have any questions she needed answered so she asked the one sitting at a large desk across the room, who just so happened to be Lex Luthor himself. "Okay let's cut to the chase, why are we here and what do you need us for?"

Tosai “Fret” Furesawa
Fret’s healthy, but also suspicious... still staying positive, though!

“But he could end up doing that! He tried to kill like, two people - including myself - earlier!” Fret shot back towards Sougo, though in a certainly softer tone than he had been speaking to Negan with. He then whipped his head around to face Batty, smirking a little and stretching his arms. “No, I do not know when to quit!” If it wasn’t obvious, Fret doesn’t like Negan! But he’s just a little tempted to be a bit of a thorn - maybe he will be, as a treat.

Seeing as Date had stepped in and put the blade to Smith’s neck, Fret frowned a little, before brushing it off.

Honestly, he kind of wanted to get some action in after seeing everyone show off a little whilst helping him, sort of as a “thank you” and sort of as a “check it, I can do things too”. But his time should come soon… right?

As Voss came and took the role of the curious group member, Tosai shrugged. In all honesty, he wasn’t sure how Negan got onto Sougo. All the Player knew was that he wasn’t very trustworthy… at least, Furesawa figured.

And finally, they were set to meet Luthor. He walked alongside Toking, hands resting behind his neck, until they arrived at the office. The teenager whistled as he looked around. It was a hell of a nice place, that’s for sure.

Fret had ended up sitting next to Sougo on the couch, eyeing Luthor with furrowed brows… yeah, bald people are not to be trusted. Though, it seemed like he was going to reveal things in a minute. So for now, the former Player looked to Sougo, smiling once more. “Nice place, huh! I’m used to middle-class stuff, y’know? Then again, I’m used to a lot of stuff that isn’t here.”

“Well, I would have had you deescalate rather than escalate, but any arguments can be tabled until a later date. We have an elevator waiting.”

Much like Ultron, Otto strayed to the margins of the elevator in order to avoid as much interpersonal contact as possible. When they got to the office, though, he was immediately on guard. Not from his heightened senses yet, although he did try to listen to them to sense any inbound danger, but from an odd sense of familiarity. The office, and the man behind it, reminded him a great deal of Oscorp and Osborne. Even the name had a malice to it. Lex Luthor. Otto rolled that around on his tongue. Alliterative, exotic, powerful.

Like Otto Octavius. Now Otto was by no means a presumptuous man, but he noticed patterns. Of course, much like Otto, Lex could have entirely ‘noble’ motivations, or at least noble enough ones to permit an aligning of interests. But one thing was for sure.

He would be watching Luthor very closely indeed.

"... No. Not friend." Dris looked at the strange... blue... beast. And.. then?? They simply scuttled away, far too confused to even attempt conversation with the creature. They'd just let this... blue... thing... deal with Spamton.

It was his problem now!

Dris had finally become... calm. At least as calm as a Ratfolk can be. They had been scuttling around the cage ever since having met with that Spamton fellow, they had become less panicked and more curious, sniffing around the cage to fine a crack in the glass, a draft, any sign of escape. But alas, it seemed everyone was trapped... DRIS was trapped...

Trapped and... and hungry... and in a room with a cat and a wolf that had tried to eat them...

BUT that wasn't a problem, right?? People had intervened! There were SOME furless creatures at least that DID have sense! So... so for now, Dris felt SOMEWHAT safe.

And yet, the moment Dris was beginning to settle... SHE came back, and Dris felt some... horrible anger surge through their little body, and- and they-

... Oh the door opened...

Dris no longer was angry. It was that simple. ANYONE nearby would have seen Dris's fur go from standing on end to smoothing down to a nice sheen.

Dris followed with the rest of the group, weaving in between others, not really caring too much about getting close.

The room they were all presented with however...

Dris looked... revolted. Such waste of fabric and material, for flaunts of wealth and power?

... There was... fruit... however...

Dris went straight for the fruit sitting on the table and began sneaking a few-

... ALL of them. AAAAALL of them, being carefully picked up in little rat paws, and being stashed away in some of the many many pockets hidden in their clothing...

And THEN Dris heard the man speaking, their arm flinching, almost dropping the pear in the paw. They quickly pocketed it, listening to this... wow... This... was the most furless man-thing they had ever seen. How did the possibly keep safe? With no fur to protect their body, any weapon could easily pierce their soft flesh!

... Was that the point!? Was the man-thing flaunting its power through... shown vulnerability?

The little rat stared at him with... an expression. It wasn't angry, or aggressive, or awestruck, or contemplative, or even surprised. It was simply a look.

The Doom Slayer

Location - Some place that isn't hell
Mood - ...
Status - ...

I shrugged when the blonde man started to say something, but interrupted himself and clapped with some enthusiasm. He claimed he would show me how the ‘best’ does it. Then the man pressed the side of his shades where music started playing and he began to shake to the rhythm of the beat. It was OK in how he danced, even pulling off a split towards the end. The man finished off with a salute. I raised my hands, with seven fingers raised to indicate that I gave his dance moves a seven out of ten. It was certainly better than most, but I have seen much in my fight against Hell and that included some pretty sick dance moves.

But whilst I was ranking the Shade Dude’s dance moves, Vega spoke with the dark-skinned man named Sinclair.

“Doomguy is not his chosen, but was instead nicknamed this by the Armored Response Coalition and resistance forces during an invasion of Earth by a species of intelligent beings most civilizations would refer to as demons. In fact, I am unaware of Doomguy’s actual name and thus all of his names are more titles. Doomguy is just one of several.”

I cracked a grin upon hearing the name Doomguy. It was a less intimidating name and one I preferred amongst the names given to me. Doom Slayer, badass as it was, was given by the Demons. Doom Marine was a title that made little sense. I was no longer a marine and adding the word doom made it sound like I was destined for a terrible fate. So Doomguy became my impromptu name when I had to interact with others.

But before anyone could respond, a woman entered through some entrance on the ground floor. I returned her disappointed gaze that washed over the entire group with a glare. However, she gave no indication she was unnerved by it and instead pressed a button on a remote.

“Mister Luthor will see you now.”

The door slid open and I rounded my shoulders. I ignored the reactions of the others, instead stomping out of the cage with the intent on meeting this Luthor to demand my release. Every second spent here meant the Demons capitalized on my disappearance. Each minute meant a life was lost for no reason other than the demons’ simple desire to kill. And an entire hour meant an entire world may have been consumed and sent careening into the depths of Hell, nothing more than another conquest. It would be forgotten, its people assimilated, and any hope of recovery forever lost.

Time could not be wasted. The only issue was the damned alterations made to my brain that prevented me from using my usual methods. If I had to hear Luthor out first then so be it.

The group and I entered a fancy office via an elevator. I glanced about the room to see it luxuriously furnished with baubles and trinkets. Their value was worthless to me, but if Luthor was willing to display them so prominently then perhaps it held some value to him. Nonetheless, I kept my hands balled up, fingers digging into the gloves of my armor to vent my frustration. As much as I wanted to wreck his stuff, it would only earn me the same treatment as Motor-mouth suffered.

So instead, I glared at the man sitting across the room. His bald head shone when the sun’s rays reflected off the bare skin. He maintained a neutral, though serious, expression upon seeing us all. His posture was relaxed, no doubt because he thought himself safe, and interlocked his fingers together.

“Greetings. I am Lex Luthor. Please, make yourselves comfortable. We have a lot to go over.” The now named Luthor spoke in a calm tone that made my stomach twist itself into a knot. It was the exact same tone used by the petty Lords of Hell whenever one deigned to speak to me. Always promises of either my agonizing deaths or offers of lordship. All died by my hands regardless. So I stormed over to Luthor’s desk and brought myself to full height to stare him down.

“Greetings, I am Vega, assistant A.I. embedded within this suit to assist the man named Doomguy. Please excuse his behavior. He is not pleased at being extracted from his home dimension without his consent and so I politely request you return both of us back as there is an ongoing invasion that needs to be dealt with.”

The Chosen Hunter

Before arrival, a couple of hours ago

The place was… in chaos. Fires were spread throughout the entire small ‘town’ made up of poorly put together houses made of scrap and old buildings from a less modern age, as well vehicles, either broken or dirtied were scattered about. But there was more to this scene than just that, and it’s the very fact of the very tragedy occurring here. A nearby man was running from something, panic and fear within his very breath as he maneuvered around the side of the building, hoping to escape whatever was chasing him. He didn’t expect this to happen, he thought he would be safe here, safe from the hands of ‘Advent’, he only wanted to keep him and his family away from their clutches, hearing about the crimes and deaths they caused, the experiments done upon them as if they were human Guinea pigs, mere playthings to them, to so many people, and he didn’t want his own family to suffer the same fate.

He thought by staying within one of the many Resistance Safe Havens, he’ll finally have a chance to lay low while the war for humanity’s freedom occurs outside, eventually coming back once everything was done. But no, he didn’t expect this… to be separated by his family and friends, all alone while they are either being killed without any hint of mercy, or being ‘captured’ and prepared for whatever experiments they have in store for them. However, something did stop the man, who was currently approaching the corner of the building he was hiding behind. It was… eccentric and heavy breathing. That was before he jumped back a bit, as a fist that broke through the corner of the brick wall he was hiding behind, falling onto his back and slowly inching backwards, as the thing that came out was hideous.

It was as if the creature was made of pure muscle, easily dwarfing him in size, the alien creature was staring upon its environment, looking for the very thing that caught its attention, before settling its eyes on him. The man tried to get back, away from what appears to be Death itself, arriving to claim it’s due, and yet, not even a full scream was shed as the alien grabbed onto the man’s legs, pulling the man back, before being brutally slammed onto the floor three times, sickening cracks of bone and limbs breaking, before being thrown like a ragdoll behind the alien and back into the hole it came from. A life… gone that easily. Many years of existence, and now, it came to an unforeseen and unfortunate end.

Some distance away, only a chuckle was heard, as a lone figure lowered his rifle, watching upon the similar acts of chaos with Advent Troopers and aliens alike shooting down civilians, or in particular cases, beating up and knocking out some people to bring back as prisoners. The Chosen Hunter could only watch with amusement at the familiar sight of death occurring over there, the man merely muttering to himself “It appears like Advent’s minions and meat shields are enjoying their new ‘play dates’, especially since they aren’t getting the bite back. Even the so called ‘Resistance Soldiers’ can barely hold the line before getting overrun. No wonder why the Resistance was failing before- And, as if to answer his question, the familiar hum of a aircraft coming down from above caught his attention. It appears they arrived just on time to deal with the enemy forces here.

Well, you know what they say. One more hunt, one more chance to claim the life of the real ‘big-game’ now, nothing like those brutish Berserkers or the annoying Chrysallids. Now, he’s finally gonna get a real fight here. The Chosen merely raised their rifle once more, the weapon trained upon the very craft used to deploy soldiers that belonged to none other than Xcom, the only competent ones bringing the fight to the table now. Skirmishers? Nothing more than a disorganized group of traitors attempting to fight back against the Assassin. The Reapers? Merely a berry bush thorn to the finger, nothing to major other than the great annoyances they cause from time to time. The Templars? Don’t let him get started upon them now. But Xcom… the same faction who not only brought a real threat to the Elders, but also gained the aid of all the other factions at the same time as well, and uniting them together.

Clearly, the Commander has something that was making the Elders quake in their collective ethereal underwears if they want them back and captured, away from leading Xcom to victory. Usually, they are the ones pulling all the shots in these kinds of situations, and it is almost always expected to see them here trying to put a Randy to this. And here they were, a six-man squad repelling down from the ramp of the aircraft, and getting ready to engage the alien forces. The Chosen Hunter gave a signature smirk of his, as he trained his rifle onto the head’s of the soldiers deployed. It was so easy… to just pull the trigger, and without warning, end a life.

Although, not everything goes to plan, as something bite the back of his own neck with an accompanying buzzing that annoyed the hell out of him. Quickly turning around to face whatever was doing that, he found nothing, and yet, the pain wouldn’t go away. It was as if an Elder was standing in front of him, making him beg in his own knees in front of the psionic power. In fact, the pain was so similar to that, he could only kneel down as the pain was overwhelming and too great for even him to handle. The last thing he saw before blacking out, was the Xcom soldiers engaging Advent within the Safe haven, an large explosion accompanying the start of the battle. And then… darkness

Present time

In what appeared to be hours asleep, the Chosen Hunter finally woken up from his state of dormancy, eyes darting around, as the blue skinned man gotten up (although slowly due to the pain still affecting him a bit) from the floor, hand resting over his pistol, Darkclaw, as he investigated his new environment. Well, whatever it was, it was sure not the Safe Haven within Brazil, or even outside for that matter. A singular glass cage… and in it, the strangest things he have ever seen before in his life mixed in with humans. The latter he was all but used to, and yet, the former was filled with a wide variety of folk. Large man sized rats, some furry human thing, he’ll, even a grey human with a cross for a face and floating disembodied hands. Seems like they were ‘handy’ with what they got, hehe.

Anyway, it appeared like they were all caged in here, like beasts. Also like beasts, most of the folk here started acting no better than savage animals when cornered, ’biting’ and ‘snarling’ at each other, the most notable of which being repaid in kind by being the most targeted out of everyone here, a normal old man with a bat of all things. Clearly, Luthor, who have them trapped here here, cared not about the ‘quality’ of his ‘wares’, only that he has enough of it. And he couldn’t agree more, seemed like they were better used as cannon fodder at this rate, especially after seeing how much pain that man went through, he may as well believe that the man was watching them at this very second, looking at them through the cameras.

Of course, as usual, he kept to himself, mostly not wanting to be a part of this nonsense, and merely taking a look at some notable individuals here, thinking about the potential ‘trophies’ he can claim, such as that white haired man’s katana, that even made his sister’s own katana look pale in comparison. And he definitely had the strength to back up his own bark. The joy in what could be a new opportunity of hunting dangerous ‘game’ was already apparent to him, a smirk on his face as he wondered about telling the Elders of this new planet and- No, he wouldn’t do that. Why ruin all the fun he can have by himself at this very moment, when he has an entire planet to himself, without even having to claim the body of the Commander for the Elders. He’ll most likely wouldn’t be leaving anytime soon, although, he needs to make sure to claim his own freedom first from the hands of this ‘Luthor’ as well.

Wasn’t long before someone eventually came to ‘pick them up’ and bring them to Luthor, being guided by some woman who clearly looks like she was done with the chaos they have been causing to each other so far, and went into a elevator. He once again had to keep his distance from the others, who knows what kinds of abilities they got under their belt. But even then, he wasn’t scared of this, merely cautious and wanting to be the one at a more comfortable distance. Pissing off this amount of people right at this very second would ensure a one-way ticket back to his stronghold to eventually be revived once again, losing out on this chance to being on another world. And he wouldn’t want that to happen now.

Finally, they reached the main man’s room, rather fancy for his own tastes, reminds him of the higher class citizens within Advent’s cities. And the main man sitting down as if he held all the cards in his favor within the very room even when outnumbered and possibly outmatched, at least, what it looks like so far. Although, it wouldn’t be a surprise if he went to shoot the man’s head only for it to bounce off like the reflecting looking dome it is. Unusually bright as well. Well, may as well perform introductions, as the Chosen approached Luthor’s table, a small grin accompanying his face as he went to stop a couple of feet away. Now, Dhar-ll was by no means, a ‘short individual’, especially after going through the Elders little experiments to ‘create’ him. He would have easily dwarfed the size of most people in the room, standing at the size of 9’2’ feet tall, definitely not short by any means. And yet, to put some, ‘humor’ into this, the Chosen crouched down in some sort of squat to have his head be on the same level as Luthor, before saying out loud.

“And I’m sure you have a lot to talk about as well. Especially since this doesn’t seem like the ‘average’ job employment meeting as it looks like so far. I second the statement coming from the ‘Purple haired stripper’ as well, you surely must have something important to say of you have people such as the like’s of me in one large group. Although, I do have a few questions of my own… what was going through your own head for the recruitment process for some of the folk here. Clearly, they don’t look like they can hold a proper engagement with a real combat force unless they get lucky now, and we all know how unforgiving lady lucky can be at times as well. Did ‘anyone with combat experience’ was the only criteria to fit this bill, or are you planning on giving them some gear as to make their lives a bit easier. Oh, and while you are thinking of an answer, make sure to fetch some cheese for the rodent currently going through your fruit bowl, pretty sure big rats like them gonna need all the food they can get. The Hunter finished saying, merely mentioning Dris at the end, as he awaited an response. And he was downright ready to laugh if Luthor had decided to bring normal people into the fray and have them babysit the weaker ones as if it was their duty to begin with.

Spike Spiegel

Well… This was certainly new. Wherever the hell he was, it certainly wasn’t back on the Bebop. Couldn’t have been an Astral Gate collapse, otherwise he’d be a pile of red mush on the floor of.. wherever the hell he currently was.

”Name’s Spike. Spike Spiegel. It’s a pleasure.”

The bounty hunter leans against the wall as he addresses the rather sinister bald man in front of him, standing at the back of this.. circus of characters. Realizing that his trusty handgun was still concealed in his left jacket pocket, Spike puts on his normal mischievous smirk, speaking up in between breaks from the other.. many different kinds of people.

”You’ve got a job for us, I’m guessing? Bounty, even..? Eh. Whatever it is, don’t have much choice. Though, I’ve got one request…

Make this worth my time.”

And finally, time to move on-

The man had been waiting for a respond, eyes alternating between the one who had introduced themselves as Spamton (who surprisingly wasn't all that obnoxious once you got on with the right foot). The impression had turned so much more positive than in the beginning in fact, that he was about to extend his free hand towards the puppet... that was until off the corner of his eye, some kind of blue blurr passed by, knocked the poor fellow over... Then again, that thing did seem to have a knack for being resilient.

So instead of worrying too much, there was a small wry smile which also showed a bit of amusement... a bit outright mean for his liking, but Spamton did cause a lot of unnecessary trouble... hopefully they would behave better with time. After a moment of consideration, he absentmindedly fished another magic stone from his bag, same kind he had handed to the rat-folk before.

"Blue one, here" He flicked the small piece of gem towards them with a warning, skillfully flying through the air into an easy to catch angle.

"If something in them cracked, fix it with that to take responsability." With a slightly lazy expression and tone, he stretched his back and arms in a relaxed fashion after speaking.

And during all of this was when the whole group in the cage was finally allowed to leave their imprisonment, to meet the faithful leader behind these operations.

Yet, he wasn't in a hurry, and neither was his nekomata companion from the looks of it, snacking on the bits of served meal he had procured already. As for the amusing rat? Already gone, the moment the door was open, and the cleric couldn't quite blame it, simply smiling gently before letting a sigh escape his lips, eyes locking onto the plate still remaining on his lap...

"...hm. Might as well not go with an empty stomach." Mumbling softly to himself while crossing his arms, the cleric nodded and started assembling a sandwich with the ingredients he had procured, making something simple by the time Berit was done with her own meal, snapping his fingers twice as the pendant on his chest shone for not even a fraction of a second, both plates being cleaned instantly before being stored right back into his bag.

"Shall we go?" Offering an arm (the one not holding his food) towards Berit, they would accept and jump onto his shoulder just like when they had arrived, and having stored the pillows before standing up, they set out together. Hershel remained taking silent bites and chewing at his sandwich while making minimal noise, something that seemed too practice for a ruler who only fulfilled administrative roles.

By the time they arrived at the meeting place, the cleric had already transformed the piece of food he had prepared from a meal and into nutrition to be digested soon. When they entered the office of the man called 'Lex Luthor', Berit's first point of interest lay on the empty desk near the window, and being the somewhat indulgent man that he was towards his loved ones, he carried her there without a complaint, letting the nekomata hop down from his shoulder and onto the surface that was lex's own table

While she would be doing her own thing, the cleric moved towards the counter nearby the bigger window, laying his elbows on the piece of furniture, hands laced together and eyes in Lex's direction, curiously observing the man and wondering what their briefing would be like with eyebrows raised. All he could do now was wait. He knew the Nekomata would be more interested in watching the situation devolve into a mess, anyways.
