"Humanity takes great pride in three things. Their willpower, their greed and their mortality.

Their will and endless greed allows them to grow and accend past other creatures
But their mortality denies them divinity

It's a delightful purgatory between being Fallen and being Divine"

Mikhail looked in silence at Faeril, watching her reply to his question with a cold, dangerous expression. Faeril would know more than anyone else how Mikhail treated any variable or 'obstacles' he could not control and to him and how close the line between 'ally' and 'obstacle' was for him. He had trusted Faeril to mess with his mind and 'cure' him, but knowing from Faeril herself that she did weave something to attract 'power' towards Fatima made Mikhail doubt if he should really trust her. Was that the reason why Mikhail was working so hard to defend Fatima? Even though he kept saying to himself he was only doing so due to the 'deal' he made with Faeril... Was it really just that?

"SaDiablo will be looking for you. I recommend you to be ready when he comes for you." Mikhail said in a cold tone, still looking at Faeril with the same dangerous stare.

"I decided to trust you when I came to you for treatment. Do not make me regret my choice." he said before he turned away and went outside to watch the surroundings.

Karina watched as the arrows from the guards were blocked by Chres' heat shield, bouncing harmless without penetrating it. When one of the guards shouted that they needed numbing ivy, Karina couldn't help but to curse under her breath. She was getting tired of all the deterrents and how the cultists seemed to be always prepared to use them.

"The deterrents again!" she said, cursing just after Chres asked if they would have his back, followed by Týfurkh, who raised his shield in front of Chres after the heat construct disappeared.

Using her ice magic, Karina touched the ground, hiding herself behind Týfurkh's shield. From the point where her hand touched the ground, a layer of ice began appearing in a cone in front of her hand, spreading through the ground and going towards the guards. The moment the ice completely covered the ground where the guards were, Karina stood up, looking at the group. Not much needed to be said regarding what she would do. The moment Chres and Týfurkh charged forwards, Karina made a swift motion with her hands, making the layer of ice suddenly grow spikes, trapping, piercing and immobilizing the guards' feet. Making sure to melt the ice in front of the group to prevent them from slipping and falling as they charged, Karina followed them with her rapier unsheathed and ready to strike anyone that stood in front of them with blade and ice alike.

It took Itsuki some time until he finished his cigarette, one of the very few bad habits he acquired through the years and due to the tribulations he had to overcome. Fortunately, it's been a few years since he managed to overcome his addiction, substituting the normal cigarettes for low nicotine content ones and finally, for the slim, nicotine-free cigarettes that normal smokers seemed to hate so much.
In the time he spent watching the people come and go in the lobby, he realized how serious the NSF was with their recruitment. They seemed to have experts of the most varied areas among their agents. Perhaps the most surprising part was that there were quite a few foreigners as well. Still, doing nothing was starting to get boring. Since he had nothing to do, he might as well go to the shooting range to test the weapons the NSF got specifically for him and he was so eager to try.

According to the instructions he was received before, unlike the rest of his things, his weapons would stay in the armory, both for safety and maintenance. In case he wanted to use them in the shooting range or just get ready for a mission, he would have just to request for them at the armory. Showing his ID to the man who was in charge of the armory, he asked for his personal weapons, both of them as he nodded towards the shooting range. It didn't take long, especially since the staff member in question seemed to know exactly where it was. Getting the weapons case the man had put in the desk, Itsuki gave a slight bow in a silent thanks as he made his way inside the shooting range and in one of the booths. He could barely contain the grin in his face as he opened the case and was greeted by both of the weapons the NSF had given him. A VSS-3000 and a Welrod MK3. Reliable, effective and dead silent, their simplicity betrayed how deadly they were in trained hands. Having no cybernetic parts, aim assist or anything of the kind that could be jammed or fail.

"Now that's something..." he said, whistling as he got the pistol, feeling it in his hands before he checked the magazine and pointed down the range to the small target about 35m away from him. He took his time getting the feel of the pistol, it's weight and how it behaved on his hands before he took two, quick shots. One of them hitting the target straight in the center of the chest and the other in the head. The aim was on point and the recoil was almost non-existent. That said, what was perhaps the most satisfying part of that was that the noise made by the pistol was almost non-existent. The combination of subsonic rounds and the integrated suppressor made it as quiet as a whisper. Even though it had a reduced range, it would serve perfectly well for him.

Laying the pistol on the case again after emptying it's magazine, he moved for the rifle. Even though he was eager to try the pistol as well, the main dish was undoubtedly the VSS. A retake on a classical weapon, it was everything he imagined it was as he took it in his hands. Compact and agile to maneuver but still comfortable to wield. From the hybrid scope to the integrated suppressor and the heavy, subsonic rounds, it was truly the closest thing that one would get to the ideal weapon to the role Itsuki had. Pushing the buttons to adjust the distance of the target, putting it at around 100m, he aimed at it's head and shot two times in quick succession. The absolute lack of muzzle flash and noise made a wide grin appear on Itsuki's face and the size of the hole in the target made him even more satisfied. He looked just like a small child playing with a new toy in the range.
Ada

@PaulHaynek@Restalaan@Stern Algorithm

Clearly being as excited as Ditzy was with the fireworks, Ada was quick to follow him after he pointed towards where the fireworks were being prepared, eager to see them in action and curious to see how they worked. After they got themselves something to eat while watching the fireworks, a loud voice came as a Riñas announced the beginning of the firework show. Eager to see what would happen next, Ada was looking back and forth between Riñas, the sky and the group. The moment she finished speaking though, Ada immediately looked up, searching for the fireworks.

She watched, curiously as a small orange spark was launched into the sky, holding her breath in anticipation. It was then that, out of nowhere, the small orange spark exploded in a big boom. One after another, explosions started happening on the sky, each one with the most varied colors, lighting up the sky in a truly wondrous manner. With her mouth open in amazement, she kept her eyes glued at the spectacle going on above them. When Sir Reed stroked her head, she turned towards him, smiling like a small child as she pointed towards the sky, barely being able to contain her excitement.

Freyr

Freyr simply nodded as he heard Haley's words, being impossible for his face to get even redder than it already was. The mix of emotions Freyr was feeling was something completely new for him. He loved Haley and he was happy he could be closer to her, he wanted to make her happy but at the same time he was anxious. He knew that he had no experience in relationships. Was he really doing everything correctly? He didn't want to disappoint her in any way. There were good feelings and bad feelings, but overall, he was still happy he could be with the one he loved.

"Thanks, Haley... For giving me a chance, for being with me." he said, with an embarrassed smile as he approached her and gave her a small kiss on the forehead, hugging her.

"We should also get something to eat and find a nice place to watch the fireworks." He said, letting go of her and holding her hand.

Freyr would then get something for them to eat before finding a nice spot and sitting down, patting the ground next to him as he waited for Haley.

"I've never seen fireworks before. Heard about them but it will be a new experience for me." he said with a smile.

"Since I met you, I had so many wonderful new experiences." he said with a chuckle as he waited for her to watch the fireworks together.

As the stranger got closer, Myra knew that it was Mathis. Knowing that he wasn't hostile, she immediately stood up straight, looking at him with a smile. Myra was happy that he was back, having someone she knew close by was a good thing, especially after losing Darius and Artemis...

Shaking her head as he asked if she was injured, she turned around and gave a small jump in the same place to show that she was unharmed. She did notice that the girl, the same one who greeted her with a smile a while back, didn't seem to like Mathis that much. Sure, even after introducing herself the girl still seemed to be a bit distant even towards Myra but the expression she made when she looked at Mathis was almost hostile. Listening to both Mathis and the girl speaking and then turning towards the blonde elf, looking for a decision to what they would do next, Myra did the same, looking at him. If she remembered correctly, the blonde elf said that they would go towards the coast, that also being what Myra thought as the best course of action if she wanted to find Darius and Artemis. As the group looked to the blonde elf, Myra pointed towards the direction where she could smell the sea, tilting her head almost as if making a question towards the blonde elf.

Upon hearing the blonde elf's confirmation that they would indeed head towards the coast, Myra looked at Mathis, excited. That meant they would have more chances of meeting Darius and Artemis so that was definitely a good thing! As the blonde elf began walking, Myra was quick to follow him, looking back from time to time just to be sure that Mathis and the rest were also following them. It was then that the dark elf offered the girl some food, after her stomach growled rather loudly. When he offered some food to the rest of the group too, Myra simply shook her head, patting her stomach as a way to say that she was good for now. Besides, it was rather easy for her to hunt something in the forest so as long as they were in a place where they could find wild animals, she would be fine regarding food.

Ylva chuckled as she heard Finn mentioning he was born and raised in the city. Despite being a bit inexperienced in some aspects, Finn seemed to be a pretty chill guy. He accepted working as a bouncer pretty quickly, even thanking and considering making it a definitive job. His reaction to both Valya and Ylva's own teasing was also good, which only confirmed her thoughts about him being a nice guy and made her think a little bit of what the big guy said or did to earn that punch.

"Well, if you're going to work here from now on, we might see each other a few times in the future." she said to Finn with a hearty laugh before looking at Viv and her co-worker.

"It's a pretty charming place. My kind of place. Don't worry about me breaking things though. I'll try to keep myself from breaking anything other than other people's faces if they bother me too much." she said with a hearty laugh.

"Besides, it would be kinda bad if I got myself banned from the only place in the city that has the types of drink I like, wouldn't it?" she finished, laughing.

Turning to Valya, Ylva paid close attention with a clearly interested expression as the russian werewolf mentioned moonshine from the Appalachian region. The words 'poison' and 'rocket fuel' made Ylva raise an eyebrow, looking at Valya with a clearly interested smirk.

"So, let's get to what's important. How can I get my hands on some of that moonshine." Ylva said, leaning forward and looking at Valya with a mischievous smirk.

When Valya mentioned she had visited the Asulf clan a long time ago and began talking a bit about her lifestyle and why she didn't go there more often, Ylva simply nodded, her expression growing more serious and a bit distant as Valya mentioned her clan. Her silence and refusal to speak more about the Asulf might be a small hint that 'something' might have happened but judging how Ylva reacted, it might not be the best idea to insist on that matter.

Thankfully, Valya herself didn't insist too much on talking about the Asulf and quickly moved topics, offering Ylva something to drink or eat as a treat.

"Hm... I do have a small something planned for tonight so I'll have to refuse your offer for food but I'll gladly accept another drink." Ylva said with a mischievous smirk as she turned to the counter, calling Viv with a hand motion.

"Hey Viv, thanks for the drink and the bottle of Akevitt." Ylva said, tapping the bottle as she took the money out of her pocket and handed it to her in order to pay for what she had asked for.

"I still have some time until the night falls so I might as well accompany my new drinking buddy for a few rounds." she said with a chuckle.

"I'm having whatever you're having. Anyone else?" she said, looking to Finn, Viv and her co-worker.

"As you guys said yourselves, at least one of you needs to stay sober... That means the rest might as well accompany us, right?" Ylva said, laughing.

Karina was in full alert, paying attention at the remaining guards. Since the alarm was already given, it meant that their presence was already known and they had to move fast, lest they wanted to be overwhelmed. Thanks to Karina being alert and paying attention on the soldiers, she was able to see when the one that was going up the stairs threw something at the group. A strange red glowing ball. Due to the reaction the other guards had and Chres' warning, she didn't need to think much to understand what that was. Unfortunately Chres' warning came a bit too late and Karina was only able to kneel down before the compressed orb of tempraision magic exploded.

Even though she managed to avoid any significant damage, the shockwave and the impact she felt due to the explosion were still painful and powerful enough to knock her down and send her body a few meters away where she was before. Still feeling the impact of the tempraision orb in her body, she took a few seconds to stand up again due to the dizziness and pain.

As Octavio approached them, suggesting them to just forget about stealth and run, Karina simply nodded, agreeing with him as she regained her composure.

"Octavio is right. We need to run. Now." she said with a firm voice as she looked at the group, her expression still showing a bit of the pain she was feeling due to the impact from the tempraision bomb.

"Understood. Just remember, you just need to distract them. Try to avoid fighting. If anything goes too wrong just run." Karina said as Jen mentioned he would be separating from the group. Even though it was a dangerous decision for him, Karina herself knew that if done correctly, it would greatly help them and may even buy some precious time for the group to do what they needed.

"For the rest of us, we need to go. Worry not about being silent, just run as fast as we can." she said, getting up and ready to run as she just waited for the rest of the group to reply.

Itsuki's transfer to the NSF was unusually quick and smooth, despite the reports of his 'problematic behavior'. While the reason for that was probably due to Itsuki's performance and historic as an agent, he didn't care that much about it. Just the fact that there wouldn't be many annoying and boring interviews or paperwork already made him satisfied enough. Most of his things were already packed up the previous day in order to be transported to the NSF quarters. Hopefully, by now they would already be on his room and he wouldn't need to move everything himself. They were also kind enough to provide the personal equipment he had asked for, namely the Russian made rifle and the English pistol that had recently became his favored weapons for work due to their effectiveness, high stopping power and flexibility. Not only that but he was also notified that he would have a personal room and would be able to use the facilities that were available in the NSF headquarters as much as he wanted. Having already seen the training facility they had in the physical test he had to make, that was definitely interesting news... Assuming the rest of their facilities was as good as the training room, of course.

Itsuki had a rather pleasant surprise when he arrived on the NSF headquarters. Although there was no welcoming party or anything, the installations were undoubtedly a clear cut above any other he had when working for the Tokushu Butai or even his own home. His room was surprisingly comfortable too and had a really nice size, going as far as having luxuries such as a television and other extras just for the extra comfort of the agent who would stay there. Although there was a small thing that drew his attention.

After putting the small backpack containing a few things that weren't transported before in the bed, he approached the wall, where a small hole, a bit bigger than a bullet was cleanly cut, connecting straight to the other room. Leaning forward, he approached his face from the small hole, putting his eye on it, which gave him a good view of the room right besides his own.

"Huh..." he exclaimed, raising an eyebrow. While he had no problem with such a small hole, he would rather not have some weirdo spy on him while he was sleeping.

Getting three cigars out of the pack he carried with him, he stuffed them into the hole, completely blocking it.

"Let's just hope my neighbor doesn't smoke..." he said to himself with a chuckle before he went out and headed towards the main room in other to take a look at the people he was going to work with and socialize a bit while hopefully, avoiding his superiors.

While the personal rooms were quiet and there weren't that many people walking around, the main hall was the complete opposite. The number of people walking around in hurried paces, each one doing their own job was proportional to the size of the NSF base. A few people drew attention from the others, like a giantess of a woman with an absent stare greeting a Japanese man that was much shorter than her but Itsuki stood out like a sore thumb. Amidst many people who were either wearing combat oriented clothes or formal suits, Itsuki was the only one wearing a pair of sandals, gray cargo pants and a simple lose and messy black collared shirt that couldn't be farther from formal wear. Coupled with his messy hair and his carefree posture, it truly made him stand out among the rest. Not in a good manner though.

Sitting down in a bench inside one of the marked areas for smokers, Itsuki simply lighted a cigar and started lazily smoking it while he watched the people come and go. Once in a while, he would find a few who stood out from the rest and kept his gaze on them a bit longer, almost like he was playing a small game with himself, trying to figure out where they would go. To the offices with the rest of the pencil pushers, towards the training room like the ones who wore either sports or combat clothes or if they would go anywhere else.

Winton

It took Mikhail a while until he arrived on the inn again, in part because he knew a certain someone wasn't in danger and took his time to breath and calm down a little. Upon finally arriving at the inn though, Mikhail would find Gennar, Denvar and Faeril, chatting among themselves. Gennar was the first one who noticed Mikhail as he approached, asking what happened with Fatima and giving Mikhail a rather concerning piece of information about another Black Widow being nearby.

"Luck hasn't abandoned the reckless little queen yet. She is fine. She found Saetan by the way." he said in a clearly annoyed tone, looking towards Faeril as he said the last part.

"Regarding that... I have good and bad news. The good news is that Saetan seems to be drawn to Fatima..." he said with a sigh, his tone of voice indicating that on his opinion, it wasn't a particularly good thing for him.

"The bad news is that he is extremely possessive, dangerous and is extremely wary about you in particular, Faeril. He says you placed a spell to draw men towards Fatima." he finished, looking straight towards Faeril. Despite his emotionless expression, his eyes had a rather sharp glint to them as he carefully watched Faeril's expression, reaction and answer to what he had just said.
